The first trailer for the Stan Original Film The Portable Door is here and it’s utterly magical.

The first trailer for the Stan Original Film The Portable Door has been released, and it's quite magical. 

The upcoming fantasy adventure film stars two-time Oscar winner Christoph Waltz and multi-Golden Globe nominee Sam Neill alongside Patrick Gibson and Australian actress Sophie Wilde. 

Adapted from Tom Holt’s best-selling and beloved seven-book fantasy series, the film is directed by award-winning Australian director Jeffrey Walker (Ali’s Wedding, Stan Original Series The Commons)

The Portable Door will premiere on April 7, 2023, only on Stan.

The fantasy film centres around Paul Carpenter (Gibson) and Sophie Petingel (Wilde) who are lowly interns working at the mystical J.W. Wells & Co. 

Over time, they become steadily more aware that their bosses are anything but... conventional.

Humphrey Wells (Waltz) and CEO of the company Dennis Tanner (Neill) are charismatic and mythical characters - and they are disrupting the world of magic by bringing modern corporate strategy to magical practices. 

When Paul and Sophie uncover the true intentions of the corporation they work for, the perfectly working cogs of the corporation begin to unravel. 

The film also includes an all-star Australian cast, including Miranda Otto (The Lord of the Rings franchise), Chris Pang (Crazy Rich Asians), Jessica DeGouw (Gretel & Hansel, Pennyworth), New Zealand’s Rachel House (Soul, Thor: Ragnarok), Arka Das (Mulan, Lion), and Damon Herriman (Stan Original Series The Tourist).

"Stan continues its strong investment and focus on premium local programs and feature films like The Portable Dooras part of our strategy to create more Australian-produced content," Stan's Chief Content Officer, Cailah Scobie, said in a statement.

The Stan Original Film The Portable Door premieres only on Stan from 7 April, same day as the U.K. and U.S. In cinemas 23 March.
