Millennials, one of our favourite staples is back for 2025 (but there's a catch).

After years of us (millennials) being absolutely roasted for our skinny jeans by our Gen Z counterparts, something interesting is happening.

My algorithm is suddenly serving me video after video of impossibly cool girls wearing them.

My millennial group chats are lighting up with confused but hopeful messages.

"Wait... what? Skinny jeans, are back?!"

So, are skinny jeans… actually back?

Watch: The shirt-tucking hack. Post continues below.

Well ICYMI Gen Z mega-cool girl and influencer Alix Earle partnered with Frame to launch "The Alix" — a modernised take on the once-maligned skinny jean that's generating significant buzz with sold-out wait lists.

But the debate isn't about which generation "owns" skinny jeans anymore. Instead, the true challenge facing fashion enthusiasts of all eras is simple: can we successfully reinvent skinny jeans and make them look good on us in 2025?

Turns out we can (with a few conditions).

Skinny jeans caveats for 2025.

After watching baggy jeans and relaxed fits reign supreme, something's shifted in the denim world. Silhouettes have been getting slimmer, and we're all collectively having a revelation: when it comes to a boot moment, skinny jeans just work.

Here's my first condition: skinny jeans + long boots = peak 2025 energy.

And here's another one: the humble black or brown belt. No, I'm not talking about karate, my senpais. Taking notes from '90s style icon Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy, pairing them with a crisp button-down shirt tucked in creates a polished look. And cinched in with a belt? Chef's kiss.

Let's talk proportions: throw on a trench coat, an oversized blazer or a boyfriend-style jacket. Or, a chunky oversized knit with a stripe over those skinnies, and suddenly you've got that perfectly balanced and modern silhouette.

For 2025, the key is to style skinny jeans in a classic way.

Darker washes (blacks, greys, and dark single-rinse denim) and a slightly longer length (not cropped) will give you the most versatile look.

So, did we donate all of our skinny jeans to charity and now feel the need to panic purchase more? We've delivered a round up of our fave skinny jeans 2.0 below as well as some accessories to style them with for 2025.
