GOOD NEWS: A bunch of your fav shows are coming back in April to get you through isolation.

Never in my life did I think I’d see a time where staying home to watch TV was not only socially acceptable, but the best thing we can do with our time.

But here we are, and there’s no way I’m wasting this opportunity.

Unsurprisingly, the coronavirus pandemic has impacted the entertainment industry just as it has so many others: TV and movie productions around the world have been halted, cancelled or postponed.

What happens to so many of these shows impacted by COVID-19 remains to be seen, and will probably mean the next seasons of our favourite shows come out… whenever this madness ends.

But thankfully, there’s plenty of streaming content and reality TV shows coming out soon to keep us going while in isolation. Here’s what is coming back to keep you entertained on the couch.

A new look MasterChef returns to Channel 10 on April 13, with brand new judges Jock Zonfrillo, Melissa Leong and Andy Allen.

The season will see 24 former contestants heading back to the kitchen for a second chance at winning, with lots of well-known guest judges including Katy Perry and Gordon Ramsay.

House Rules returns on Sunday, April 5, and it too has some new faces.

This season introduces new hosts Jamie Durie and Abbey Way and judges Kyly Clarke and Saul Myers, who will join returning judge Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen.

This year teams will renovate a 32-storey penthouse on the Gold Coast for the “reimagined” season on Channel 7.

I don’t think there’s anything the world needs more right now than the second season of Hamish Blake’s strangely therapeutic LEGO Masters.

It’s the most wholesome competition on TV, and it returns on Channel 9 from April 19.

Killing Eve.

The TV gods have taken pity on us and Australia will now be treated to the new season of Killing Eve much earlier than first planned, fast-tracked from the US, with episode one dropping on ABC iView at 12pm on Monday, April 13.

Home and Away.

In very good news for Summer Bay, Home and Away star Lynne McGranger, who plays Irene, announced the show's return date on the official Instagram account.

"I just wanted to let you know, I have it on good authority that Home and Away will be back on air on Monday, April 13th. I'm excited, I hope you are too," she said.

Bloom.

Stan's original series Bloom is back for a brand new season on April 9.

In the second season, news of a 'second generation' plant emerges, causing a battle between nature, science and faith. The series stars a bunch of familiar faces such as Bryan Brown, Phoebe Tonkin, Jacqueline McKenzie, Toby Schmitz and Jacki Weaver.

Farmer Wants A Wife.

It's almost here, and we couldn't be more relieved about it.

Things are weird, and we need Farmer Wants A Wife (Australia's most successful dating show!) to make it better. It returns on Channel 7 sometime in April, though the exact date is TBC.

Vida.

Mishel Prada and Melissa Barerra return in the third season of Vida. The series follows the lives of American-Mexican sisters Lyn and Emma, living in their changing East L.A. neighbourhood. After refurbishing their late mother's bar, the new season picks up with the once-distant siblings still struggling to confront their past, while trying to navigate their new relationships.

Episode one of season three comes to Stan on April 26.

Nailed It.

If you're in need of a laugh, people trying to and failing to replicate very elaborate, intricate cakes is perfect.

Season four of Netflix's very funny baking show, Nailed It, has just been released and it's glorious.

Money Heist (Part 4).

Money Heist is one of the Netflix's most popular shows globally, about a group of robbers attempting to pull off the biggest heist in history.

Originally meant to be a limited series, the show was so popular it continued after two seasons. Part 4 is released on April 3.

After Life.

Ricky Gervais' heartbreaking but funny series about Tony, a cynical, angry and cruel man, who after losing his wife (and soulmate) Lisa, has resorted to living his life without a filter.

Not much is known about the plot for season two, but Gervais has said there was a clue in the season one finale:

At Anne's grave, Tony tells her: "I’m going to carry on saying and doing what I want and punishing the world, but I’m going to punish people who deserve it. I’m going to use my superpower for good."

So, order in contactless delivery, and pour a bottle of wine. You've got life-saving work to do in front of the TV.
