Don't want to wear a dress on Christmas Day? You need to see this festive set.

Last week we shared our thoughts on the style of dress everyone will be wearing on Christmas Day.

In case you missed it, that would be a maxi-dress. Thanks to its on-trend silhouette and the variety of options on the market, it's set to be a very popular festive season choice.

But what if dresses aren't your thing? What if your style veers more towards separates?

I'd put myself in this camp. While I don't mind frocking up for a special occasion, I'm much more likely to opt for a fancy shirt or statement bottoms to make an impression with my outfit.

Which is why I've assembled a wardrobe full of matching sets. I love the ease of throwing them on and knowing my look is pulled-together. It's at the point now where I feel weird buying shorts without a top that was designed to go with them.

But the versatility — parden my pun — is completely unmatched. They can do dressy. They can do casual. They can be split up and styled separately.

So if you're still hunting down your perfect Christmas outfit, hear me out…. maybe you just need a new set! A festive one!

Think about it: many of us embrace the tradition of wearing our Chrissy PJ's long into the day. So changing into another cute co-ord isn't much of a stretch.

For Christmas day, I can't go past the combo of a vibrant printed shirt and matching shorts. I'm particularly loving the new tie-up styles that add something a bit special to your top.

If your family 'do has more of a casual barbecue vibe going on, this might be the answer for you too. Just consider styling up your 'fit with some chunky sandals and jewellery so it's giving chic daywear, not sleepwear.

Local brand By Frankie is making waves right now with its colourful, summery options inspired by a European holiday aesthetic. The best part? You can buy them as a duo rather than dishing out for the standalone pieces.

You can also snap up options with a similar vibe at Sabo, Palm Collective and Petal & Pup. Scroll on for some of my best Christmas Day picks — but don't dwell on these, they're all selling out fast!
