Mamamia's Share Your Space series asks everyday women to share all the juicy, specific details about their home. How much do you pay in rent? Who do you live with? Where did you get your furniture? It's pulling back the curtain on real estate in Australia, and allowing us to really see how the people around us live.

In this episode of Share Your Space, Mamamia joins Lauren Magnus of Our Hutley Home to show us inside her home.

Age: 38

Job: Primary school teacher and digital creator.

I live with: My husband Josh and our daughter Ava.

Mortgage: It is quite expensive to build and renovate your dream home. We were lucky that we built this house and moved in just a few months prior to COVID. We had a strict budget, but I did end up blowing it because of all the things that we wanted and longed to incorporate. Even now, we're only just finishing all the landscaping and that's two years in. The cost definitely gets away from you when you're building your dream.

Location: Lennox Head, in the Northern Rivers of New South Wales.

Lifestyle: My husband and I grew up in the area of Lennox Head. It's a quaint, coastal, beachside town. We're about 15 minutes from Byron Bay and while we've ventured out into Sydney and even more remote areas, coming home has been the dream. We absolutely love being back on the coast.

So, take us inside.

Main entrance / Hallway: For us, our 1.8 metre wide and four-metre high entrance hallway was an absolute non-negotiable. It was a fixture that we just wanted to have.

It goes for the entire length of our house, so when you open the door, you can see straight down the grand entrance. Our front door is a duck-egg blue and it was just another special, unique feature that we have for our home and we truly love it.

Bedrooms: We have four bedrooms in our home.

Our master bedroom is basically an oversized space because we wanted it to feel like a resort.

We have an open plan ensuite with no doors. It has a bath, a double head shower, double basins and a huge arch mirror. And we have a four metre long double-sided walk-in wardrobe and a super king bed.

It is really just a parent retreat!

Ava's bedroom is the perfect room for a tween. She's 11 (going on 17, ha!) so we wanted it to be very calming with a lot of earthy tones. She has a rattan bed with built-in cabinetry and it is really just the type of space that she can retreat to.

It's her space and we wanted it to be as calming as possible.

Bathrooms: We have two full-sized bathrooms and one powder room.

For our bathrooms, we wanted to keep it neutral but also aligned with the Mediterranean vibe we had throughout the rest of our home.

We incorporated concrete benchtops in our bathrooms and went for either an arched mirror or a big circle mirror.

In the main bathroom, we had floating timber cabinetry and oversized baths.

Lounge/Dining: I absolutely love our living room.

We also have a media room but our living room overlooks our pool and our yard and it is full of natural light. It's also part of our open-plan living kitchen and dining so it's really just the most inviting space.

It really is just the heart of our home and it is just filled with light bright features that make us feel so at peace and cosy.

I live in quite a large space and I'm a really busy mum, assistant principal and content creator so I live by the rule to just "clean when you can". It's so helpful to have my Wertheim Evolution Stick Vacuum because it's become crucial to my cleaning routine plus it's easy on the eyes with a lot of visual appeal.

It lasts for a long time too with a 100-minute run time and six accessories so I can run around cleaning everything I need to.

I'll often throw a load of washing on a timer overnight so it's ready for me to hang out in the morning and I love to do a quick vacuum of the living spaces before bed.

So easy to maintain a beautiful space with the right tools. And the fact it's cordless make it perfect to whip around these tricky spaces and under furniture.

Kitchen: We wanted our kitchen to be an extension of our outdoor entertaining space.

It has a beautiful gas strut window and huge sliding doors that open up the entire space to our deck. Our home is a modern coastal meets Mediterranean villa. We have white concrete bench tops throughout the whole house and it is the main feature of the kitchen.

It was crucial to us though to incorporate a lot of warmth into our home so we have a beautiful feature timber range hood.

Our butler's pantry is oversized too because we did not want storage to be an issue in our space. It's our dream kitchen and it has a beautiful modern holiday kitchen vibe.

Pool/Yard: So the front yard or exterior is a space we're actually working on now.

We've been fortunate to work with a landscape architect and my friend, Bloom Landscape Design. She has created the ultimate tropical oasis, so it has resort vibes. There's lots of greenery and we added a beautiful firepit too.

Limestone surrounds our pool and in the backyard, we also added an outdoor shower, boardwalk decking and stone steppers. We love having the greenery everywhere.

Final thoughts: We really love our home. It's been a dream a longtime in the making. Most of our furniture has taken a lot of thought as we wanted to choose what best represented our vibe.

I got a lot of it from James Lane Furniture and received a lot of inspiration from Instagram, Pinterest and even random little moments like when I was out at a restaurant. A lot of places have such beautiful decor.

If I had to take any piece of furniture, It would have to be my new lounge but overall, every single piece has significance and meaning.

My advice to other families or people looking to renovate their home is to create a vision board, gather photos of what you love the most and plan, plan, plan!

Our goal was to really create a space that our family and friends didn't want to leave: a holiday resort but at our home! It's minimal but really, really homey and welcoming. That was our goal and I'd say we achieved that.
