Mamamia's Share Your Space series asks everyday women to share all the juicy, specific details about their home. How much do you pay in rent? Who do you live with? Where did you get your furniture? It's pulling back the curtain on real estate in Australia, and allowing us to really see how the people around us live.

Age: 35

Job: Owner of Bump Day Spa

I live with: My husband Jason, twin daughters Indiana and Samara (4 years old), and son Banjo (three years old).

Mortgage: My husband owns a construction company (Jcorp Construction) so we bought the land two years ago, knocked down the existing home and built the duplex over 18 months.

Location: Bronte, Eastern Suburbs Sydney

Lifestyle: Bronte is a gorgeous coastal town in the Eastern Suburbs of Sydney. We are a short (steep) walk from the beach and local shops, and a 15-minute drive from our offices. I often take the kids to Centennial Park to play and ride their bikes as it's only a short drive from home.

So, take us inside.

The most exciting part about building our first family home was being able to make it work for us. With three little kids, layout, functionality, safety and design were really important when planning our home.

My husband has spent over 20 years building other people's beautiful homes, so it was really exciting to be able to create a vision for ourselves and watch it come to life.

Bedrooms:

We have four bedrooms all on the lower level.

Our twin girls have always slept together in a queen bed but we thought in this house we would create a fun space where they can sleep separately but still share a room.

Also, we were worried our son was always feeling left out so instead of doing one bunk bed, we made use of the long narrow room by making TWO bunk beds (four king single beds in total).

Silly us though! The twins still prefer to sleep together in one bed together and Banjo has had no interest in sleeping in their room and prefers to sleep in his own room. So that plan failed miserably although their rooms are gorgeous and they spend a lot of time playing in there.

We also have a guest bedroom and of course, our main bedroom.

This is Banjo's room - where he prefers to sleep, anyway! Image: Supplied.

Bathrooms:

We have three bathrooms on the lower level and a powder room upstairs on our living level.

The bathrooms have a European vibe about them and they all feature stunning blue ocean travertine stone and gunmetal tapware.

Lounge/dining:

Our dining and lounge area is a bright, sunny, open plan layout which flows onto the kitchen and the backyard. One of our statement pieces of furniture is our 4.5 metre dining table which was designed by Chloe Matters who also did our interior design.

We embraced a casual dining setting by including two bench seats from Provincial Home which are super comfy and great for when guests come over.

Our living area has a lovely sunny balcony with views of stunning Bronte Beach.

The TV area features two MCM House white linen lounges… now, don’t call me crazy about having white lounges with three little kids because the best part is that the covers are removable and can be washed and bleached if needed!

We have white-washed hardwood floors throughout the whole house which means my Wertheim Evolution Stick Vacuum Cleaner is my closest companion! It works like an absolute treat on my floors, making sure they're well looked after, and the deep cleaning powerhead prevents any clogging.

The vacuum also comes with some top-notch accessories that make cleaning a whole lot easier, including an upholstery tool, soft dusting brush, crevice tool, angle attachment and a pet brush.

It even comes with a spare battery so when I’m finished with one and can swap to the other giving me up to 50 minutes of runtime. Plus, it looks pretty damn gorgeous in our new home, too.

Kitchen:

I’m a pretty terrible cook but it’s hard not to enjoy our new kitchen.

The kitchen features a beautiful 6 metre blue ocean travertine island bench. This is where the kids generally eat as it's much easier to clean up! We also have a handy butler's pantry to hide away pantry items and bulky appliances.

Pool/Yard:

Being a duplex, our backyard space is pretty limited. We love entertaining and having BBQs so we installed a wood fire BBQ.

Our outdoor dining table and chairs are from Coco Republic and we’re excited to make use of our little pool in the summer months.

Final thoughts:

After years of hard work, it is so nice to finally be in our very own home and it makes it even more special that my husband was able to build it.

And while we still have a few bits and pieces to do before it's complete, we look forward to making many memories here for years to come… until the next one!
