Selling Sunset's biggest feud happened off-screen. It just got a lot more complicated.

If you're a fan of Selling Sunset, you'll know that one of the biggest dramas from the last couple of seasons has been the feud between Bre Tiesi and Chelsea Lazkani. From warring factions to awkward confrontations, the drama does not stop in season nine.

However, you may be surprised to learn that the juiciest scandal this season actually happens off-screen. And it's between two very unlikely former best friends: Emma Hernan and Chrishell Stause.

Now, the behind-the-scenes feud has gotten a lot more complicated, with their co-star Mary Bonnet jumping into the fray to defend Emma, even publicly condemning Chrishell's actions as "very cruel."

Let's break it all down.

One of the main storylines this season is Emma's new love life. Following the drama in season eight where Nicole accused Emma of having an affair with a married man — which she profusely denies — Emma debuts a new relationship.

Meet Blake Davis; a real estate agent and developer who's been posting photos of Emma on Instagram since April 2024, though they were first publicly spotted together at an L.A. restaurant in July.

And straight off the bat, Chrishell is not a fan of Blake. Throughout the season, we get glimpses of the tension building between the former besties. In fact, Chrishell straight up tells Emma that Blake is a "douchebag" and warns her that he is trying to control her.

But by the end of season nine, it seems that Emma and Blake have broken up and all is well between her and Chrishell. Chrishell even apologises to Emma for her strong reaction and acknowledges how it might have made things difficult for her.

But, low and behold, the real drama happened once filming finished.

Following the breakup that we saw on-screen, it seems that Emma and Blake had a reconciliation, because by May 2025, Chrishell officially confirmed that she and Emma were no longer on speaking terms.

After being spotted together at the Beyoncé concert in May — their last public appearance as friends — things took a dramatic turn when Blake posted birthday photos featuring Emma.

"What's happening with you and Emma?" a user commented on Chrishell's social media.

"Ask her about her MAGA bf who told me pronouns are dumb and that he likes to use the N word. I just can't with that. Too old to allow that in. But love her from afar," Chrishell replied.

Big yikes.

And as if things couldn't get more complicated, Blake also got his two cents in on the drama. He claimed he'd only met Chrishell "a handful of times," with their last encounter happening "a year-and-a-half ago" and denied the allegations she made about his stance on pronouns.

"The only time we had a real conversation was when I met Ms. Stause at her house with Emma. I regretfully referred to G Flip as Ms. Stause's wife," Blake told Daily Mail.

"Ms. Stause corrected me that they were partners and that G Flip goes by the pronoun them. Since, I have respectfully used the preferred pronouns."

After the public fallout with Chrishell, Emma and Blake seemingly broke up again, as per TMZ, in July 2025.

Sources told the outlet that Emma and Blake had called it quits following his "public feud" with Chrishell, with insiders claiming "Emma saw a side of him that turned her all the way off."

But come September, Emma posted a TikTok of herself and Blake doing a couples challenge together, seemingly confirming that they are still together. When a fan asked if she was "taken," Emma replied with a heart emoji, "I am."

"Love u even when you make me do weird tiktok stuff idk what im doing," Blake commented on the video.

If that wasn't already a lot to digest: now Mary has entered the chat. She weighed in on the drama, publicly taking Emma's side.

"In my opinion, I think as a friend, if you have somebody going through something like that, you need to be there for them and be the safe space," Mary told Us Weekly.

"You don't desert a friend in their time of need and you definitely don't try to humiliate them by going public and telling all their secrets."

"That [public reaction] was uncalled for and very cruel," Mary said. "I asked her why because I don't get it. I've always loved Chrishell and I just don't understand the reasoning for that. But people do things for different reasons."

In that same interview, Mary also brought up her own feud with Chelsea Lazkani, claiming that she felt she could be in danger during their previous clash.

"At Bre [Tiesi]'s party, I wasn't just emotional. There were some things from after the dinner that happened that I didn't want to put myself in a situation where I'm in danger," she explained of her on-screen breakdown after seeing Chelsea's nametag at Bre's party.

"I'm not upset because I see her name or that she was going to be there. There were some issues where I just don't want any part of this."

Chrishell is not having any of this.

Posting a story to her Instagram, Chrishell called out Mary's comments about Chelsea, labelling them as "dangerous."

"I was there for all the on camera and off camera moments. You were never in danger girl," she wrote. "Alluding that you ever were regarding Chelsea is really dangerous rhetoric. Do BETTER."

Yikes. Let's just say there are feuds all around. And the best (or worst) part? None of this juicy, friend-dumping drama is even going to be on TV.

Now, of course, Emma and Chrishell wouldn't be the first friends to let a man come between them — and they certainly won't be the last to have strong opinions about each other's choice in partners.

As they say, boyfriends come and go, but losing a friendship over one? That's the real tragedy here.
