Here's your first look at Survivor Australia. It is hot in every sense of the word.

Australia has been given the first look at the new season of Survivor and you have to hand it to them: It looks hot.

It’s hot in the ‘somebody transport me there, I can’t deal with Aussie winter’ sense and in the ‘somebody transport me there, this cast look like off-duty models’ sense.

Host Jonathon La Paglia introduces the return of the show, for what will be its third season, standing beside pristine waters and tropical trees.

I’m not sure if La Paglia is meant to look like he too is a castaway but his light beard and fitted tee is giving off some serious hot dad vibes.

The series was filmed on an unknown island in Samoa and is said to have stranded our cast for 55 sun-bleached days.

The preview gives us a first peek at the 24 Aussie castaways and it seems the selection criteria for this season asked for either ponytails or chiseled abs but preferably both.

The website that accepted applications for the 2016 group is still online along with the actual criteria required for contestants.

There are some standout prerequisites for wannabe Survivors:

You must be able to swim.

You must be able and happy to engage with strangers and live in close quarters.

You must submit two photos: one that is clear and recent and one that reflects you as a person.

It would seem my application would be a headshot alongside a signed photograph of my dog.

The clip offers only a taste of the 2016 cast but production was sure to include a few tantalising hints of their professional backgrounds and motivations.

"I prosecute criminal cartels," one says.

"I might be a teacher but I'm a student of this game," adds another.

No word yet on the premiere date, but expect it to hit our screens soon.
