It's been 20 years since School of Rock was released. Two of the kids just got married.

More than 20 years after its release, two of the stars of School of Rock have tied the knot!

Angelo Massagli, who played security detail Frankie, and Caitlin Hale, who starred as backup singer Marta, are officially husband and wife — and some of the "band" got back together for the big day.

Rivkah Reyes (Katie) posted a video from the wedding, featuring their "classmates" Brian Falduto, Joey Gaydos Jr., Robert Tsai, Maryam Hassan, Aleisha Allen and Cole Hawkins.

Sadly, the band's adult member, Jack Black, couldn't make the ceremony — though Hale said he'd sent a note.

"[He was] was so nice and generous with his words, and definitely commemorated it privately."

While Massagli and Hale met on set, they didn't get together until years later. (I mean, duh — they were kids!)

However, the groom told the New York Times that he was left awestruck by Hale's audition, where she sang 'Everything's Coming Up Roses' from Gypsy, switching up the lyrics to be about the movie's director.

"I was like, 'Wow, that girl's really, really, really something else,'" Massagli said.

After filming wrapped, the cast members went their separate ways but kept in contact via a group chat.

In 2018, both Massagli and Hale were persuing degrees at universities in Florida and decided to reconnect for lunch.

"We thought that was kind of it," Massagli said. "But we just kept grabbing dinners and going out for the weekends. We were like, 'something's brewing here.'

"Even though it wasn't romantic, that familiarity we had and our families had when we were younger, really cut through some of those early relationship hurdles," he added.

It didn't take long for Hale to know that Massagli was 'the one'.

"I knew very early," Hale remembered. "I actually said to one of my close friends, I remember being in an Uber on the way down to Miami one weekend and we were going out, and I was like, 'I think I'm gonna marry this guy.'"

A year later, the couple moved to Brooklyn. Massagli got down on one knee in June 2023, in front of the Temple of Dendur at the Metropolitan Museum of Art.

And now, they have officially tied the knot, with their first 'band' in tow.

Honestly, it's all very sweet and nostalgic. And it's got us reminiscing on School of Rock, which remains one of those iconic films.

The hit 2003 film follows amateur guitarist Dewey Finn, played by Jack Black, who poses as possibly the world's coolest substitute teacher and trains his students to play in a band.

It even went on to inspire a stage musical and a Nickelodeon TV series of the same name.

Now, more than two decades on from the film's premiere, the kids of Horace Green Prep are no longer... well, kids.

Here's a look at what some of your favourite classmates/band members are doing now.

Miranda Cosgrove (Summer).

Miranda Cosgrove made her film debut when she played band manager and overachiever Summer Hathaway in School of Rock.

Since then, the 31-year-old has continued to make a name for herself in the industry, having appeared in Nickelodeon series Drake and Josh and Zoey 101, as well as films Keeping Up with the Steins and Yours, Mine & Ours.

But you probably recognise Cosgrove from the time she played Carly Shay on hit series iCarly, which ran for five years between 2007 to 2012. The series was then rebooted in 2021 and ran for two more years.

She also voiced the character Margo in all four Despicable Me films. More recently, you'll spot her in the 2024 film Mother of the Bride

Outside of acting, Cosgrove has kept herself busy releasing two studio albums. Her first studio album, Sparks Fly, even peaked at number eight on the US Billboard 200 chart.

Joey Gaydos Jr. (Zack).

Joey Gaydos Jr. hasn't acted in anything else since playing "Zack-Attack" in School of Rock. But that doesn't mean he's hung up his guitar.

After the film, Gaydos went on to launch a music career, releasing a self-titled album in 2004. He has also played lead guitar for artists including Paradime, Stereo Jane, Uncle Kracker.

In 2019, he made headlines when he was arrested for allegedly stealing guitars from multiple music stores in Sarasota, Venice, and North Port, Florida.

Currently, according to his website, he is working on more genre-fluid solo music and playing in the group, Never Sorry.

Rivkah Reyes, formerly known as Becca Brown (Katie).

Rivkah Reyes was 10 years old when they played Katie aka "Posh Spice" in the film.

In an article published by Mamamia in April 2020, Reyes explained that they originally read for the band manager role, which later went to Miranda Cosgrove.

"For the callback they asked me to 'rock out'. My mum bought me a kid-sized electric guitar and I played a Lenny Kravitz song. I found out I’d booked it the next day. They told me that I’d be playing a character that they wrote specifically for me and that I’d be leaving in two days for New York to live in a hotel with my mum for four months."

However, after watching the film for the first time, Reyes said, "I judged myself for being the tallest girl in the cast, for having bags under my eyes and weird teeth, for having a fat belly and no breasts. I started obsessing over food and truly hating my body."

"Awful comments" they received online, coupled with "bullying and the shame of being sexualised" as a kid, saw Reyes turn to alcohol and drugs.

"From the age of 14, I used drugs, alcohol, sex, food, and self-harm to numb all of this pain. I’ve survived dozens of toxic relationships and three suicide attempts. I’m not saying all of this is because I played bass in a movie when I was a kid, but because I spent over a decade terrified that I’d peaked at 10 years old."

Today, Reyes still performs as an actor and musician. Most recently, they appeared in the Netflix Christmas film The Merry Gentlemen, starring Chad Michael Murray. They also released an EP in October 2024.

According to IMDb, the last film she appeared in was You're Nobody 'til Somebody Kills You in 2012.

In 2017, Allen became a licensed speech-language pathologist.

Falduto also works with several LGBTQI+ advocacy organisations and was named one of the "20 most influential, outspoken, and optimistic individuals on the planet" by Pride Life Magazine in 2018.

In 2021, she spoke to Today Extra in Australia where she revealed she has been singing since she was four years old, and was more hesitant about the acting side of School of Rock.

"The singing part, I was like, 'let's do it', the acting was what was really new for me," she said.

Since the movie, Mayhernate has been working on her music. In 2021, she released her first R&B EP called Plush in 2021.
