A secret wedding and 2 Hollywood hunks: The fascinating dating history of Scarlett Johansson.

Scarlett Johansson needs no introduction.

She is one of Hollywood's most acclaimed and bankable stars. She's the highest-grossing actress of all time, with her films earning over $15 billion worldwide.

Johansson has won a BAFTA and a Tony Award, received two Oscar nominations, and earned five Golden Globe nominations.

She's kind of a big deal.

The actress is beloved for her acclaimed roles in Lost in Translation, Jojo Rabbit and Marriage Story, and has a cult following for playing Black Widow in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Most recently, she is fronting the reboot of Jurassic World: Rebirth, alongside Bridgerton babygirl, Jonathan Bailey.

But much less importantly (but important to me, personally), she also has damn intriguing taste in the men she dates and marries.

Johansson's love life has always been a hot topic — sometimes it has been splashed across headlines, but other times, kept completely under wraps. Keep your secrets, ScarJo!

From her current marriage to her high school sweetheart, here's a full rundown of every famous man Scarlett Johansson has dated, married, or been rumoured to be doing *something* with.

Colin Jost: 2017–Present.

Scarlett's third (and current!) husband is Saturday Night Live writer and comedian Colin Jost. They first met back in 2006 when Scarlett hosted SNL for the first time and Colin was a brand-new writer on the show.

Their relationship didn't turn romantic until May 2017 — more than a decade after their first encounter.

That month, Scarlett made a guest appearance on the SNL season finale, and the two were seen together at the afterparty, where they were reportedly spotted 'making out at the bar'. Love that for them!

The pair started dating and by September 2017, Colin publicly confirmed their relationship at the Emmy Awards. "She's pretty cool," he said on the red carpet.

"It's hard to have a lot of complaints, she's pretty awesome. I'm very happy. I feel very lucky," he continued.

They got engaged in 2019, tied the knot in 2020, and welcomed their son, Cosmo, who was born in 2021.

Compared to her earlier flings, Scarlett has been much more open about Colin — even appearing with him multiple times on Saturday Night Live.

"He's very optimistic, easygoing, funny, nice, and those are the qualities that really drew me to him," she told Parade in 2020.

"Understanding what those fundamental things are that you need in a partner is like a must I think for longevity... I need to be with a compassionate person.

"That's a game changer and a life lesson."

Romain Dauriac: 2012–2017.

Scarlett's second marriage was to French journalist and advertising exec Romain Dauriac.

"We met through friends in Paris. It was very romantic. And we became friends. When I'd come back to Paris, I would see him. We started dating," she told Parade.

"He's the smartest person I know. I was attracted to the way that he thinks."

They began dating in 2012, married in 2014, and welcomed a daughter, Rose, the same year.

The marriage ended in 2017, but Scarlett has always spoken warmly about Dauriac in the press.

The exes currently co-parent their daughter Rose together.

Sean Penn: 2011.

In 2011, Scarlett had a short-lived romance with actor Sean Penn.

Scarlett met the actor in early 2011 after she reached out to him for advice about humanitarian work in Haiti.

Their relationship quickly became public when they attended Reese Witherspoon's wedding together in March 2011, followed by appearances at high-profile events like the White House Correspondents' Dinner.

They were often seen showing plenty of PDA, but the relationship fizzled after a few months.

Scarlett's never spoken publicly about her random fling with Penn, and honestly, who can blame her?

Ryan Reynolds: 2007–2011.

Scarlett's first walk down the aisle was with Deadpool star Ryan Reynolds.

The two began dating in 2007, shortly after both had ended long-term relationships — Ryan had just broken off his engagement to Alanis Morissette, and Scarlett had split from Josh Hartnett (more on him later).

Reynolds and Johansson were married from 2008 to 2011, tying the knot when Scarlett was 23 and Ryan was 31.

They kept their romance relatively private (like, there's basically no photographic evidence of them together??), and they held a quiet wedding on Vancouver Island in September 2008.

Their marriage was short-lived, and they announced their separation in December 2010, finalising their divorce in July 2011.

They described their split as amicable, stating they "entered our relationship with love and it's with love and kindness we leave it."

Reynolds met Blake Lively on the set of Green Lantern in 2010, while he was still married to Scarlett, but the couple maintains their relationship began as a friendship.

Reflecting on marrying so young, Scarlett said she wasn't mature enough.

"I mean, the first time I got married I was 23 years old. I didn't really have an understanding of marriage. Maybe I kind of romanticised it, I think, in a way," she told Vanity Fair.

Josh Hartnett: 2005–2007.

Johansson met '90s heartthrob Josh Hartnett on the set of the crime thriller film The Black Dahlia in 2005. Their professional friendship quickly developed into a romantic relationship, and by June 2005, they went public with their blossoming romance.

"Josh is very sweet, he's a good boy. A great person. I'm very lucky, and I'm very happy," she told Allure in 2006.

The couple became one of Hollywood's most photogenic pairings from 2005 to 2007. They were a verified It-Couple, but their relationship ended due to busy schedules and time apart. Classic!

In response to their breakup, Josh has since shared some choice words about what went wrong.

"It was difficult spending so much time apart with all our different commitments and both of us flying all over the world," he told Mirror UK.

"At the end of the day, we're just ordinary people and it didn't work."

He alluded to jealousy being a cause of his past splits.

"I've been in situations where dealing with the long-distance aspect of the relationship has destroyed the other person," he told InTouch.

"Seeing their significant other in the arms of a beautiful actress is difficult. It's hard to be like, 'Oh, that's just work.' It is, but you're on location with this other person for months, so there's jealousy."

In the year since he split with Scarlett, the actor was romantically linked to Penélope Cruz, Helena Christensen and Rihanna.

Jared Leto: 2004.

In 2004, Scarlett was linked to controversial actor and musician Jared Leto.

The two were spotted together at events, sparking rumours, but neither ever confirmed the relationship.

Years later, Scarlett reflected on a romance that many believe was about Leto, which she described as her hitting 'rock bottom'.

"Long, long ago, I had someone in my life who was forever unavailable…but, like, so attractively unavailable," she told Cosmopolitan about a mystery man.

"Rock bottom is the moment when you're like, 'I've lost myself. Why am I standing outside this bar at 1:30am in the morning texting while my friends are inside? Or taking a taxi to see him at some ungodly hour? This isn't me.' That is the moment you've gotta cut it off. Otherwise, it will keep coming back, suck your blood."

Relatable, right?

But the pair reunited at the Met Gala in 2018, so maybe it wasn't all bad!

Jack Antonoff: 2001–2002.

Before the red carpets and blockbuster films, Scarlett dated Jack Antonoff, now a Grammy-winning musician known for his collaborations with little-known pop stars, Taylor Swift, Sabrina Carpenter and Lorde.

You can't say Scarlett doesn't have taste, right?

They were both students at the Professional Children's School in New York. They were high school sweethearts and even went to prom together! Cuties!

The relationship fizzled after graduation, and Scarlett has never spoken publicly about Jack. Meanwhile, Jack has since married a different Hollywood leading lady, Margaret Qualley.

So basically, every single hot guy and hot girl in Hollywood can be traced directly back to Scarlett Johansson. This woman! Her power!
