In 2023, Neighbours' Scarlet Vas married her step-brother. They just welcomed a baby together.

In 2017, Aussie actor Scarlet Vas, 29, found fame when she graced our screens playing Mishti Sharma on Neighbours.

But she's back in the spotlight for a different reason.

While it's in slightly unconventional circumstances, she's found love with her step-brother, singer Tayo Ricci.

Now, the couple have welcomed a baby.

Scarlet and Tayo announced the arrival of the newborn in a joint statement to Instagram.

Sharing a photo from the hospital, with their baby's face covered with an emoji, the new parents wrote: "Our Christmas miracle has finally arrived 🤍 Merry Christmas from our family to yours 🎄."

They are yet to share further details about the newborn, but Scarlet did confirm they had a girl on her Instagram story, where she wrote: "We are so insanely in love with her already."

The couple revealed their relationship in a viral video in 2021 captioned: "I fell in love with my bf's best friend… who happens to be my step-bro."

While the initial video appeared to be a skit, the couple said their relationship was very much real.

Since then, they haven't shied away from sharing the sweet moments of their relationship, leaning in to the controversial topic of their 'family connection' on their social media channels.

The couple went from strength to strength, and soon, Vas and Ricci married at a picturesque ceremony in Mykonos, Greece, last year.

In September 2024, Vas announced that she was expecting a child with Ricci.

As far as we can tell, the couple are yet to clarify the exact relationship that makes them step-siblings.

Vas told news.com.au the couple are "definitely not blood-related" but said they prefer to keep the details of their family connection private out of respect for their parents.

But it hasn't stopped them from sharing content about their unusual meet-cute.

Between them, Vas and Ricci share more than 23 million followers across Instagram and TikTok, with most of their content focused on their relationship.

Unfortunately, while it gets a lot of comments, not all of them are positive.

Regarding the comments calling their partnership "weird" or "gross, Vas says it doesn't bother them.

"I don't really read our comments section, but if I do, I actually laugh. We find trolls very entertaining," she told news.com.au.

"We didn't realise 'step sibling' content was so popular, maybe because it's rare? But I've realised through sharing our story that everyone loves it.

"We do spark controversy, I know that."

The duo currently live in Australia after spending five years in the US.
