The exact makeup shades worn by stars at the SAG awards.

While you were listening to Triple J’s Hottest 100 or madly preparing the kids for the start of the school year, some fairly famous people hit the Screen Actors Guild awards (SAGs) red carpet over the long weekend.

The SAGs are what some industry insiders say are the best indicator of who will take out the top gongs at the Oscars, but it’s the upcoming beauty trends we’re most interested in. Natch.

Side-swept hair was the real winner of the Golden Globes red carpet.

Jennifer Aniston gave a shout out to Mexico’s Cabo San Lucas for her tan (tsk tsk), Orange Is The New Black’s Laverne Cox brought it with an impressive crown braid (and a dress designed by an Australian), but the real winner was bright poppy red lipstick. We’ve got the low down on the exact lipstick shades worn by Lupita et al., so keep reading and try to resist wanting to buy them all. FYI: resistance is futile.

The best beauty looks from the Golden Globes.

But say you have landed here a tad disappointed because you already have a collection of bright poppy red lipsticks in your makeup bag? I hear you. There is one other new totally wearable shade lining the lips of Hollywood’s elite for which I’m predicting big things. I were to dip into the Crayola carousel for colour inspiration, it’d be called Carnation Pink or Crimson. Yes, Crimson. Let’s go with that. See it in all it’s glory at the People’s Choice Awards below.

To buy similar shades, I love Clinique’s High Impact lip colour in Red-y to Wear $36, Avon’s Ultra Color Lipstick in Beyond Pink and Revlon Colorburst Lip Butter in Cherry Tart.
