Ryan Gosling is a talented and beautiful man. Women love him, men love him.

There’s no denying that we’ll take any opportunity to gaze into his eyes. Writer Kahla even has a t-shirt emblazoned with his face!

But the one place we didn’t expect to see him pop up? In hair news. And we’re not quite sure how we feel about it.

In the opposite to the hair trend we’ve seen nearly every other celebrity go recently, Gosling has gone to the dark side. No more are his sandy brown locks, instead replaced by a so dark-it’s-nearly-black brown.

Gosling debuted his darker 'do on the set of his new movie The Big Short which looks at the cause of the 2008 GFC and is currently being filmed in New Orleans.

The actor plays a slick, dark-haired businessman alongside actors like Brad Pitt, Christian Bale and Steve Carell.

Keeping the world of celebrity hair in balance by going lighter is Elizabeth Olsen.

The third Olsen sister (aka Mary-Kate and Ashley's seriously talented younger sister) showed off her light blonde lob at the premiere of the new Avengers: Age of Ultron film.

Aside from her most recent honeyed locks, we've seen the actress sport many colours over the years, including dark brown and red.

We have to say though, this one is a winner. It's beautifully toned, fresh, flattering and makes Olsen glow.

The Fifty Shades of Grey actress debuted her ticket to the bob brigade in New York yesterday. It's quite a rock 'n roll look for Johnson, and dare we say that we're getting major Alexa Chung vibes from her new look?

If that is who Johnson is looking for inspiration from, we'd definitely recommend she gives the shag a try. With the chop and style, she's halfway there already.
