Royal Wedding: the bridesmaids and pageboys were the real stars of the show.

At Saturday’s royal wedding, just moments before Meghan Markle arrived at St. George’s Chapel, there were a few other familiar faces that almost stole the show.

The bridal party, composed of four page boys and six bridesmaids, accompanied Markle, 36, as she walked down the aisle.

The bridesmaids walked up the steps to the chapel hand in hand with the Duchess of Cambridge, and two of Markle’s closest friends, Jessica Mulroney and Benita Litt. The page boys arrived with the Duchess of Sussex in her car.

In the party was Prince George, four, and Princes Charlotte, three, who were previously in the bridal party for their aunt Pippa Middleton and husband James Matthews in May, 2017. The children of Meghan’s best friend Jessica Mulroney – Ivy, four, and twin brothers Brian and John Mulroney, seven, were also part of the party.

Jasper Dyer, six, Zalie Warren, two, and Florence van Cutsem, three, who are Prince Harry’s godchildren, and Meghan’s goddaughters Remi Litt, six, and Ryland Litt, seven, made up the rest of the bridal party.

In a statement from Kensington Palace, it was announced that Claire Waight Keller, who designed Meghan Markle's wedding dress, also designed the dresses of the six bridesmaids.

"The dresses were designed to have the same timeless purity as Ms. Markle's dress," said the statement.

However, their shoes were a gift from Meghan herself and were designed by American label Aquazurra. In a lovely, personalised detail, each pair was monogrammed with the wedding date and initial of each bridesmaid.

The page boys wore uniforms cut and made by renowned Savile Row tailors Dege & Skinner that matched the Blues and Royals frockcoat of Prince Harry and Prince William. Similar to the bridesmaid's shoes, the names of each page boy was embroidered onto their shoulder traps.

After accompanying the now-Duchess of Sussex up the aisle, it's been reported that the entire bridal party were on their best behaviour throughout the entire duration of the ceremony. Vows, sermons, performances and all.
