1. The bizarre reason members of the royal family don’t have to wear seatbelts.

After Prince Philip's car crash just last week, he was seen yet again without a seatbelt strapped across him while in a vehicle just two days after the incident.

People were confused, angry, and a little disappointed in the prince, but it turns out, not wearing is seatbelt is quite a common choice among all the royals.

Former royal protection officer Simon Morgan spoke to Hello! and said the reason for the lack of consistency regarding vehicle safety is to ensure... their outfits don't get ruined.

Sorry, what?

“What is significant about this event or situation? Is an individual’s look and appearance important?” Morgan said.

“Protection is a very unique area of policing and there are a lot grey areas, but you are always judging each situation to weigh up the risks and threats with the outcomes you are trying to achieve.”

But apparently, pure aesthetics isn't always the reason.

"There are always anomalies," he said.

"In the threat and risk matrix it's a matter of looking at each individual situation to decide what is the best way of achieving what needs to be achieved. For example, considering that a quick entry or exit to a vehicle is easier when people aren't strapped into seatbelts."

2. Taite Radley has broken his silence on those Ali Oetjen breakup rumours.

The pair have endured much public speculation over the legitimacy of their relationship... has it all been for publicity? Are they overcompensating on social media? Is love even real? Etc. etc.

Despite this, the two have resisted the urge to respond. That is, until now.

Perhaps not as outward of a response as some may have hoped, Taite Radley posted a photo of him and Ali on Instagram, captioning it with the following:

"The biggest thing I’ve learnt over the last few months is that it doesn’t matter how others see or judge your relationship, it only matters what you have between each other."

So, yes. Apparently the two are still together, and we've got to say, you beat the odds.

3. A reality TV star got a "cheeky little beard transplant" and we have so many questions.

In today's instalment of things you didn't know you can do to your body, a reality TV star has shared his experience with getting a beard transplant.

Bobby Norris from British reality TV show The Only Way Is Essex (affectionately referred to by fans as TOWIE) mentioned the cosmetic procedure in passing this week while on the red carpet for the UK’s National Television Awards, The Sun reports.

“I’ve had a little cheeky beard transplant done about a week ago.

“I am really excited and feeling more confident already and looking forward to getting into the new series of TOWIE.”

That's very lovely and all, but can we please rewind back to the beard transplant bit because are we the only ones who didn't know this is a thing?

A quick Google tells us beard transplants involve transplanting hair follicles from a person's head and implanting them into the skin where one would traditionally grow a beard.

Well there you go. Whatever makes you feel good, we say.

4. Excuse us, but I'm A Celeb's Justin Lacko would like to be the next Bachelor.

A post shared by JUSTIN (@justinlacko) on

Back in the day, when you went on reality TV to find love, you had one chance and that was it.

Not anymore. Now, contestants who subject themselves to much public scrutiny by going on dating TV shows prefer to continue to do so on other (or even the same) shows rather than go back to dating in the real world.

Following on from Ali Oetjen's third appearance in The Bachelor franchise, current I'm A Celebrity and former Love Island reality star Justin Lacko would very much like to get in on some bachie mansion action when he's done in the jungle.

Speaking to 10 Daily before his I'm A Celeb appearance, the male model said he's already submitted his application to be the Bachelor for 2019.

"I’m just hoping that they take me seriously. I feel like everyone knows I’m trying to find somebody… I want to find somebody," the 28-year-old said.

“I’ve always said that if you can walk onto the street and find someone then I don’t see why you can’t walk onto a show and find someone too."

We also hope Osher takes Justin's Bachelor application seriously, if not for the main role, perhaps for a spot on The Bachelorette.

Good luck to him.

When Magda Szubanski found out she would be receiving the Officer of the Order of Australia, she surprisingly expressed that she felt guilty and sad.

The 57-year-old Kath & Kim actress likened her effort garnering support for the YES vote for marriage equality in Australia to America entering the two world wars late and “taking all the credit”.

“This is the peak of awards, the accumulation of everything I’ve done,” the LGTBQI advocate told reporters, jokingly requesting she be referred to as “your Magda-jesty” from now on.

“My first thought was, ‘God, I wish my parents were here.’ Sadly, they’re not,” she added.

In September 2017, Szubanski’s mother, Margaret, passed away. Margaret was 93 years old and she never got to see her daughter achieve equal rights under Australian law.
