'I went to Mecca to try Hailey Bieber's rhode products. Here's what I would (and wouldn't) buy.'

Let's dive straight in because we're all busy and there's a lot of ground to cover.

In case you missed it, Hailey Bieber's beauty brand rhode is finally available to shop in Australia via the rhode Australia website, and both online and in store at Mecca.

At the time of publishing, the chic as sh*t rhode eye masks and a few blush shades are already sold out at MECCA, and I'm sure the viral glazing milk and lip liners aren't far behind — but don't fret, because you can shop everything on the rhode website.

Hopefully Hailey has the stock sorted for us!

Like the recent Victoria Beckham Beauty Aussie launch, being able to buy rhode in Australia is a big deal for us beauty nerds.

But if you're here because you've seen dewy-looking people talking about it on your feed — or you're wondering who this 'rhode' person is (answer: it's Hailey's middle name) — I've got you covered.

As Mamamia's beauty editor, I take my product reviewing very seriously. So, I got my hands on almost every rhode product so I can tell you which ones I would personally spend my own money, and which ones are just… nice.

rhode skincare reviews.

On the outside, rhode skincare products look like any other viral TikTok brand. A deeper dive reveals there's a bit more to it.

Formulated alongside cosmetic chemist Dr. Ron Robinson and derm to the stars DR. Dhaval Bhanusali, the vegan, cruelty-free and fragrance-free range is built around peptides (messengers that tell your skin cells to repair, build collagen and even block muscle contractions) along with barrier support ingredients.

I gotta admit, a full face of rhode skincare looks glowy AF. I was expecting to look like a glazed doughnut, but I wasn't expecting to enjoy the routine so much.

Style Inspo: The Six Things This Stylist Would NEVER Let You Buy

My rhode cleanser review:

Looks like a pineapple-coloured gel cleanser that emulsifies to a creamy lather as you add water and work into damp skin.

Hyaluronic acid and polyglutamic acid (that's the PGA ingredient inn the name) are hydrating, but also lightly exfoliates with pineapple enzymes.

Super gentle and doesn't strip your skin; removes SPF and light makeup, but it has a slightly soapy scent I don't love.

Would I personally buy it? No — this is OK, but not for me. I prefer cream cleansers.

My rhode Glazing Mist review:

I've tried SO MANY hydrating mists, but this one is truly one of the best.

Ectoin, panthenol and ceramide trio hydrate, nourish and refresh the skin; use after cleanser and before serums, or spray over makeup throughout the day.

I'm obsessed with the packaging, the ultra-fine nozzle ensures you get a super fine mist of product, rather than a donkey spit or water gun squirt.

Slight tack behind (so it's not just fancy water), but doesn't ruin your makeup — it makes it dewier and glowier.

Would I personally buy it? Yes!! This is maybe the most underrated rhode product, I feel like more people should be talking about it!

rhode Peptide Glazing Milk, $55 for 124ml.

My rhode Glazing Milk review:

Think of this as an 'essence' or 'serum' step in your routine; use after cleanser and before moisturiser.

Unlike a lot of other more Korean-esque milky skincare products, this one has more substance to it. It's not as runny as others I've tried, and it dries down nicely and won't pill with your foundation.

Also unlike other milky toners, the rhode one contains antixoidants and minerals like vitamin E, magnesium, zinc and copper, plus the nourishing ceramide trio and hydrating glycerin.

Milky texture but it has a bit of substance to it - not as runny as others I've tried, nice dry down.

Would I personally buy it? Yes — I liked this way more than I thought I would, but the Bubble Hydrating Milky Toner, $28 for 100ml, is just as lovely.

This is the serum step in the rhode routine of cleanse, mist, toner, serum, moisturiser

From the name, I thought this would be a completely different type of product, but I love how the oil gel texture of this serum is what gives the glazed doughnut look

It's lightweight and absorbs quickly, contains peptides, niacinamide., marula oil and glycerin

Would I personally buy it? No, because I have other hydrating niaicinamide serums I like more. This would be a great beginner morning serum, though!

rhode Barrier Restore Cream, $55 for 50ml.

My rhode Barrier Restore Cream moisturiser review:

A rich yet lightweight cream moisturiser with peptides, shea butter, hyaluronic acid, niacinamide and bisabolol

This is a lovely moisturiser with a comforting scent that sinks into the skin nicely, but it's also like a lot of other moisturisers I've tried.

The Goldilocks texture is great: it's comfy, but not too rich.

Would I personally buy it? No — normal to combo and oily skins would enjoy it, but it's not quite thick enough for my super dry skin, which leads me to…

rhode Barrier Butter Intensive Moisture Balm,$62 for 100ml.

My rhode Barrier Butter review:

Ugh, the texture of this sleep mask/night cream is the stuff dreams are made of.

It's thick and balmy, and reminds me of the La Roche-Posay Cicaplast Balm I love so much

Contains hyaluronic acid and PGA (like the cleanser), as well as ceramides and murumuru butter to moisturise and replenish your lipid barrier

Would I personally buy it? 100 per cent. I'll use this as the last step in my nighttime routine, like a sleep mask!

rhode Peptide Lip Treatment, $35 for 10ml.

My rhode peptide lip treatment review:

This is a thiiiick lip treatment… perfect for those who haven't been personally victimised by hair caught in sticky glosses.

Very nourishing, and the unscented flavour is just that, no weird smells or tastes.

Would I personally buy it? Not the original, BUT I've already purchased the exclusive MECCA Sugarberry flavour because I'm a hype sheep.

rhode Pocket Blush, $43 for 5.3g.

My rhode blush review:

Obsessed with the look of the packaging, but doesn't feel super premium (it is made from post-consumer recycled materials, though!).

Comes in 11 shades and can be applied to lips, too. I tried and enjoyed the pinky brown Tan Line and hot pink Juice Box shades.

This has a nice creamy, semi-gloss texture that's easy to sheer out or build up

Looks very natural on the skin, but doesn't seem to last for the whole day

Would I personally buy it? Yes (again, I'm a sheep), but I won't be repurchasing because I'm in relationships with far too many other cream blushes that have better stamina.

My rhode lip liner review:

Also comes in 11 shades, I'm LOVING the warm pinky mauve Press shade!

Think of this as a lip contour product or a really slim lipstick, rather than a traditional lip pencil.

You wouldn't use this for an ultra crisp line, but I'm finding it lasts well and works for a modern blurred lip combo vibe.

Not sure about the smudging tip on the other end…

Would I personally buy it? Yes, but not sure I'd repurchase because it's pricey for a lip liner (standard size is 1-1.5g).

My rhode tinted lip balm review:

With 16K reviews, I had high hopes for this tinted lip balm…

It isn't as thick as the lip treatment, and leaves a rich, velvety gloss finish on the lips

It comes in 11 shades — I tried the nuetral pink Salty Tan shade, but didn't find it very pigmented

Would I personally buy it? No — I have other tinted lip products I like way better!
