We’ve all got them: the unworn, unattractive, ill-fitting clothes hiding in our wardrobes.
They’re lurking in the back, making us feel guilty for spending money we didn’t really have in the first place. Unable to throw them out in the off chance we lose weight or finally take them to get altered because that would be admitting defeat.
But if you’re handy with a sewing machine, I’ve uncovered some inspiration that might just have you dusting off the Janome this weekend.
Meet Jillian, fashion blogger at refashionista.net. She turns her vintage and flea market clothes into wearable clothes, bringing the loose, oversized and downright unflattering clothing into the 21st Century.
Some of her transformations don’t even require a sewing machine. Check out what she does with this dress that she picked up for $1.
“This is such a simple one, folks. It’s mind-bogglingly easy, and requires NO SEWING AT ALL! I made a few chops…” says Jillian.
Chop! Chop! Chop!
And voila! that’s it.
Take a look at the gallery below and prepare to be inspired. Very, very inspired.
