Motherhood has a lot of ‘rules’.
We’re constantly told how to feed our children, whether we should work or stay at home. We’re told how to give birth, how to get our kids to sleep and what to do when they start school.
It’s exhausting.
The result of all these 'rules' is just a lot of women feeling completely inadequate about the way they're raising their kids.
So it was refreshing to see a post on Australian comedian, Catherine Deveny's Facebook page today about real motherhood.
Deveny summed up the message perfectly. She wrote:
Stop competing with your parenting. Get a life.
1. It's a parents job to become redundant.
2. All children need is to know they are loved.
3. All children want is to see is their parents trying, not always succeeding but trying to get their shit together.
Can you relate?
