The Young Mummy: "This is the reality of going to the races when 30 weeks pregnant."

Sophie Cachia, aka The Young Mummy, has shared the hilarious realities of going to Derby Day while pregnant in a relatable post that has fellow mums-to-be sighing in agreement.

In a post to Instagram the 26-year-old was candid about what being “Derby Day ready” means when you’re 30 weeks pregnant.

The blogger, who is pregnant with her second child, said while she’s “really excited and appreciative” of attending, it’s just not same as going along sans baby bump.

“I kind of have FOMO for the day, even though I’m attending, if that makes any sense?” she said.

“30 weeks (pregant), skin tight dress surrounded by gorgeous women, high heels, being designated driver and no cocktails for mumma – all going off 5 hours sleep.

“I am heading there about 12, let’s have bets as to what time I’ll be home snuggled in bed by. Or snuggled in a corner “passed out”.”

DERBY DAY READY! Aka the reality of a pregnant woman attempting to go to the races. Don’t get me wrong – it’s such a fun day with friends and I am REALLY excited and appreciative. But I kind of have FOMO for the day, even though I’m attending, if that makes any sense? Who am I trying to kid, that kind of thing. 30 weeks, skin tight dress surrounded by gorgeous women, high heels, being designated driver and no cocktails for mumma – all going off 5 hours sleep. I am heading there about 12, let’s have bets as to what time I’ll be home snuggled in bed by. Or snuggled in a corner “passed out”. The hardest part of today wasn’t finding an appropriate dress to fit the bump, it was to fit the mumma juggs (#bigtittiecommittee can I get an AMEN?!?). Like I’ve said, I’ve hit the stage where it’s not just my belly that appears to be pregnant. Apparently I have a baby growing in each boob, one in my neck that’s protruding through my double chin, and I’m guessing by 4pm today my ankles will have joined the up the duff club. HAPPY SWELLING! Edit: apologies to today’s makeup artist @tessm_makeupartist – as I wait in the car for my appointment, it appears I have again forgotten to wax my chin. Delicious

The mum said that the “hardest part” of dress shopping wasn’t finding a dress appropriate for her baby bump, but finding one that “fit the mumma juggs”.

“I’ve hit the stage where it’s not just my belly that appears to be pregnant. Apparently I have a baby growing in each boob, one in my neck that’s protruding through my double chin, and I’m guessing by 4pm today my ankles will have joined the up the duff club,” she said.

It seems many, many mums can relate, with commenters posting words of encouragement.

“So relatable! I’m not going this year because I couldn’t find anything that fitted that didn’t look like a Moo Moo,” one commenter said.

Another wrote: “I am 34 weeks pregnant with my first and I appreciate hearing your honest account of pregnancy because I’m feeling all these things too! There’s nothing like noticing all the gorgeous people around you and not feeling in control of your own body”.

The Young Mummy later shared a photo of herself frocked up and looking gorgeous, like many other celebs and personalities today.

But giving us a reality check and a glimpse behind the Insta-perfect snap is why we love Sophie.
