Nearly six months after making headlines for saying her daughter spends her weekends with her grandparents, TV personality Rachael Finch has stood by her ‘unconventional’ arrangements.
In an interview with the Daily Telegraph‘s BW magazine, 28-year-old Finch confirmed that she and husband Michael Miziner have completely unpredictable work weeks, and for that reason their three-year-old daughter spends a lot of time with her grandparents.
“We definitely don’t have a conventional work week; it’s up and down,” she says.
“Violet is on planes with us everywhere, she does so much stuff with us through our schedule and we have a lot of help from her grandparents. We make it work based on our lifestyle.”

After being the subject of widespread scrutiny and criticism earlier this year for similar comments, it appears Finch still feels an unnecessary need to justify her parenting arrangements for those she does not know but whom pass judgement regardless.
“I’ve really learnt to read things, and not read into them,” she says, referencing the the backlash from this year.
“Everyone’s entitled to their own opinion and I understand that.
“We definitely don’t have a nine-to-five (routine). We’ll be at the park or doing weekend stuff mid-week. I think it’s just people are inquisitive about other people’s lives, but I think the only thing that matters is what we know at home, and at the end of the day we know the schedule and exactly how happy and loved Violet is and it doesn’t bother us one little bit.”
