But he doesn’t call cars driven by blokes ‘Dick Mobiles’ does he?
V8 Supercars driver David Reynolds has been slammed with a $25,000 fine for referring to an all-female team at the Bathurst 1000 – the first all-female team in 17 years – as the “pussy wagon”.
And he deserves every cent of that fine.
When asked about the Supergirls duo Renee Gracie and Simona de Silvestro – his teammates, his colleagues – during a press conference, 30-year-old Reynolds responded: “Was I aware of the pussy wagon?”
(Chortle, chortle.)
Reynolds continued, changing tack: “Yeah, I think that’s great. Renee and Simone are really good people and really good drivers. I hope they perform well for us.”
He issued a statement after yesterday’s press conference “unreservedly” apologising for his comment, saying “it was intended to be humorous”.
Because you can’t talk about women driving a car without a reference to their genitals, right?
Or, apparently, the fact they get periods… (ewww, periods!)
“During the race we do pads stops, like brake pads, but in their garage apparently it’s the only pads stops with wings,” he commented on radio earlier in the week.
Seriously?
