Farewell 2025, and if it felt like an emotional, letting go and 'shedding' type year? It's because it was our year of the snake.

Happy 2026 and welcome to the year of the horse! If that doesn't make sense, let me bring you into my Roman Empire…

Watch: The Out Loud hosts have their tarot read by our resident Psychic Evelyn Santoro. Post continues below.

Year of the snake (2025).

In the Chinese Zodiac, the snake symbolises renewal, like shedding skin to emerge stronger.

Last year emphasised boundary-setting and clearing emotional clutter, helping people reassess priorities in relationships and careers before leaping forward. No wonder we are exhausted…

Year of the horse (2026).

But never fear because the horse arrives (from February 17) with fiery speed, independence, and boldness. Expect faster social vibes, career risks paying off, and a push to act on ideas.

The snake-to-horse transition closes a nine-year lunar cycle (from 2018-2026), symbolising completion, release, and cosmic reset. Phew!

So with that in mind, what does 2026 have in store for our fave celebs, the topsy-turvy world of politics, the economy, and technical advances?

I asked Mamamia's resident Psychic, Evelyn Santoro, for her very (spot on) predictions of what lies ahead.

So let's get our woo-woo on together, shall we? I cannot wait…

Secret struggles ahead for Taylor and Travis?

Swifties, prepare yourselves. Because, according to Evelyn, we're about to witness something monumental.

"In the weeks leading up to the wedding (around May 2026), they pull back from public life together," Evelyn reveals. "Taylor hides Travis — although she continues to be public, in her own right."

But here's where it gets interesting.

"Privately, there will be a long period of adjustment for Travis, which isn't easy. And then by mid-2027, without drama, the relationship settles into a private rhythm."

So the million-dollar question: will they last?

"Yes, they do. But with significant speed bumps by the end of 2026, however, they do work it out."

A slow dissolve for Timothée Chalamet and Kylie Jenner?

Remember when this pairing gave us whiplash? Yeah, about that…

"This relationship is slowly dissipating in energy," Evelyn said, and honestly, we've all seen the writing on the wall.

"By April 2026, the couple reaches a fork in the road. Fewer joint appearances publicly, and both are reassessing their commitment to each other."

It's giving… inevitable, really.

"We'll see that by August 2026, the relationship begins to dissolve. The split is low-key and respectful. No explosions, it won't be messy. It's just the end."

Lights, camera, reconciliation? Harry and Meghan (The Sussexes).

Now THIS is where things get juicy. Because after years of royal drama, documentaries, and that book, the Sussexes are apparently entering a new era.

"By June 2026, we'll see Prince Harry stepping into high-profile entertainment, something light and fun to better connect with mainstream audiences," Evelyn predicts.

Harry doing… what exactly? Game shows? Reality TV? A cooking show? Whatever it is, the energy is less "serious documentary" and more "let's see Harry's personality shine." And honestly? We're here for it.

Meanwhile, Meghan's taking a different approach.

"In July 2026, Meghan's career becomes even more commercially selective, with fewer projects and a stronger brand. She'll do less mainstream media. And by the end of 2026 we'll see small, curated story pieces."

But here's the real tea: "There won't be another Royal fallout. While Meghan remains on the family's outer circle during 2026, there will be an opportunity for Harry to strengthen his relationship with his dad."

EXCUSE ME? After everything?

"Over the next two and a half years, we'll see Meghan slowly returning to the fold as there will be a mature resolution. Less earthquakes, more stability."

If this happens, it'll be the redemption arc none of us saw coming.

The long, legal road ahead for Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni.

Okay, so this one's been everywhere, and according to Evelyn, 2026 is when we see how it all plays out legally.

"In contrast to past 'Him vs Her' high-profile feuds, by April 2026, this one shows that the public conversation turns procedural, not emotional. A very analytical approach by audiences. In turn, the hearings redirect focus from personal claims to legal tactics."

Translation: We're all going to become armchair lawyers. Again. But this time with less emotional investment and more "let me pull up the court documents."

"By August 2026, we will hear about settlement discussions, but there will be no resolution outside the courtroom this year. Just a clearer way forward legally in 2027."

So it's going to drag. Cool, cool, cool.

The Beckham Family succession.

The Beckham family drama has been simmering, and 2026 is apparently when we see how this dynasty evolves.

"By June 2026 the Nicola Peltz–Victoria Beckham dynamic doesn't explode. It's quite the opposite; it freezes," Evelyn explained.

"No reconciliation, no fiery escalation, just cold distance. Here we'll see two strong brands refusing to bend. But there will be strained peace through separation, not resolution."

But Victoria's facing her own challenges.

"By August 2026: Victoria hits fashion fatigue, and the empire shows visible strain. It won't collapse, but contract. Fewer collections, strategic scaling back."

Here's where it gets really interesting: "At the year's end, December 2026: we'll see the Beckham family operating under a new hierarchy. David and Victoria: legacy protectors; Brooklyn and Nicola: separate power unit; Romeo and Cruz: the flexible duo; Harper: shielded from cameras."

Evelyn breaks it down perfectly: "This is the real succession story; the Beckham's transition from one family brand to multiple orbiting ones. An emerging dynasty."

So instead of one big Beckham brand, we're getting the Beckham Cinematic Universe.

Aussie Politics: A housing revolution for renters and young voters?

Alright, let's talk about the state of our nation, because apparently, the vibes are about to shift dramatically.

"By mid-winter (June–July), housing affordability moves from policy-speak to emotionally charged national debate, driven by renters and young voters," Evelyn predicts.

If you're a renter (hi, it's me), you already know this issue is reaching a boiling point. But according to Evelyn, mid-2026 is when it becomes THE issue that dominates conversation. Because when you can't afford to live anywhere, politics gets personal fast.

"August 2026 sees a spike in support of fringe parties like the Greens and One Nation as people seek what is perceived as decisive action rather than measured responses."

"In October 2026, integrity and accountability become louder voter concerns than specific policies. Voters are transitioning from reflection to impatience for change."

The era of political patience is over. The horse is galloping, and politicians better keep up.

Legal momentum and scandals ahead for USA politics?

Oh, America. Sweet, chaotic America. 2026 is shaping up to be… well, exactly what you'd expect.

"From April through June 2026, court decisions and legal proceedings have more impact on political momentum," Evelyn said.

"We will see an uncovering of a scandal from an unlikely politician."

Oooh. Now that's interesting. Not the usual suspects, but someone we didn't see coming. The plot thickens.

"By late October into November, the dominant US political conversation shifts from 'who wins' to 'what now?' Feelings of aimlessness amid the storm."

So Americans are going to be left feeling directionless. It's giving exhaustion. It's giving "we're all just tired." And honestly, haven't we been there for a while now?

A data-privacy breaking point, and are the robots really taking over?

Buckle up, because our relationship with technology is about to get complicated.

"May 2026 sees renewed concern around data privacy, consent, and who owns personal information, which is triggered by a leak," Evelyn warns.

"In July, more users deliberately reduce posting, switch to private accounts, or step back from platforms in snooze mode (without fully leaving them). The great sabbatical begins to combat social media burnout."

Private accounts, less posting, more lurking. It's giving digital detox, but make it semi-permanent.

"By September, AI catapults into mimicking human-created work, with all its imperfections (writing, art, podcasts and music to name a few), sparking a debate between the need for perfection over the familiar need for authenticity."

Well, as someone who creates and writes… let's just hope we miss the human mess. Because perfection is boring, and authenticity is what connects us.

A season of growth for the global economy?

Let's talk money, baby. Because after years of economic anxiety, 2026 is apparently bringing some… relief? Maybe?

"By April 2026, rate fears begin to ease as central banks signal consistency. No rate cuts though, and through June brings consumer caution, driven by living costs and stagnant wages."

So rates aren't going up (thank god), but they're not coming down either. We're stuck in limbo, and people are being careful with their money because living costs are still wild and wages aren't keeping up. Thrilling.

But here's the good news: "By October, organisational restructures are almost done. This trend, which primarily occurred in 2024/2025, is over."

"From the end of 2026 to 2028, it's time to invest in growth capacity and new ways of working."

The bottom line.

So what's the overall vibe of 2026?

After a year of shedding, reflecting, and reorganising in 2025 (thanks, snake), the year of the horse is bringing speed, action, and boldness. But with that comes speed bumps, adjustments, and the need to hold on tight as things accelerate.

Evelyn's predictions paint a picture of a year when we're all transitioning from patience to action, from reflection to momentum. The horse is running, and we're either going to keep up or get left behind.

My advice? Hold on to your hats. 2026 is going to be a wild ride.
