Princess Charlotte's christening photos are as beautiful as you could imagine.

Princess Charlotte has been christened and the photos are gorgeous.

Before we get in to the details let’s just appreciate Prince George, who looked identical to his dad, Prince William at the christening on the weekend. Seriously, can you tell who is who?

While George did try to steal the show (quite successfully) everyone was still swooning over the lady of the day - Princess Charlotte.

The ceremony was held on July 5, 2015 in the afternoon (local time) at St. Mary Magdalene Church, Sandringham - a location close to Kate Middleton and Prince William's summer home in Norfolk. It is the same church that Prince William's late mother, Princess Diana was baptised on August 30 in 1961.

The young Princess was christened by The Archbishop of Canterbury, the Most Reverend Justin Welby - the same man who baptised her older brother Prince George in October 2013.

It was a very open affair with the paddock outside of the church being left open at the specific request of the Duke and Duchess to allow the public to see Princess Charlotte on her Christening day.

Prince Harry unfortunately couldn't make it because of his wildlife work in Africa. However, guests included Kate Middleton's parents, Carole and Michael Middleton, as well as the Queen, the Duke of Edinburgh, the Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall.

Kate and William's daughter was christened with her full name - Charlotte Elizabeth Diana.

Her godparents are, Miss Sophie Carter, Mr. James Meade, Mr. Adam Middleton, The Hon. Laura Fellowes and Mr. Thomas van Straubenzee.

Sophie Carter is a close friend of the Duchess, James Meade is a close friend of Prince Williams and Adam Middleton is the Duchess' first cousin.

The Hon. Laura Fellowes is the daughter of Baron Robert Fellowes, who was the Queen's Private Secretary from 1986 to 1990. She is also William's cousin; the niece of Princess Diana.

Thomas van Staubenzee is also a close friend of Prince William's.

Interestingly, and it what must surely be a break from longstanding tradition, no member of the Royal Family has been named godparent.

The photographer for the day, Mario Testino, was the man behind the Duke and Duchess' engagement photo  the Vanity Fair portraits of Princess Diana in 1997, shot shortly before she died.

As expected, Charlotte wore the same christening gown as her older brother, Prince George. The official Royal Christening Robe is made of fine lace and lined with white satin. It was commissioned by The Queen a decade ago and made by Angela Kelly and Buckingham Palace's team of dressmakers.

It is a replica of the gown made in 1841 for the christening of Queen Victoria's eldest daughter, Victoria, Princess Royal. The original gown was subsequently worn for Royal christenings, including The Queen.

Archbishop Welby baptised Charlotte at the Lily Font, the silver baptismal font commissioned by Queen Victoria and Prince Albert in 1840 for the baptism of the Princess Royal.

While it's the first day we've seen the young family all together, it's not the first time we've seen official photos of the beautiful siblings, Prince George and Princess Charlotte. Kate Middleton took these photos of her children in June this year.
