Apparently Prince Harry will take paternity leave when his royal baby is born.

Since she became part of the royal family when she married Prince Harry in May last year, Meghan Markle has certainly challenged royal traditions.

From celebrating her and Prince Harry’s first child with a baby shower in New York City to breaking royal fashion “rules”, the Duchess of Sussex hasn’t been afraid to push the boundaries.

And now it seems Prince Harry is just as keen to bend tradition.

According to new reports, the Duke of Sussex plans to take paternity leave when his first child is born.

As reported by The Daily Express, Harry plans to take two weeks paternity leave to support Meghan when the time comes.

“He doesn’t need to take paternity leave because he doesn’t work in the way most people do, but he thinks it’s a very modern dad thing to do,” a source told the publication.

Of course, Harry isn’t the first royal to take paternity leave.

Prince William also took two weeks paternity leave following the birth of Prince George, now five years old, and Princess Charlotte, who is now three.

But when Prince Louis was born in April last year, the Duke of Cambridge returned to work just two days after his third child was born.

On the other hand, it seems Meghan has just begun maternity leave, as her baby is expected to be due in the coming weeks.

The 37-year-old stepped away from maternity leave on Wednesday to pay tribute to the 50 people who lost their lives in the Christchurch mosque shooting.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex made an appearance at New Zealand House in London where they laid flowers and paid their respects.
