Harry and Meghan's Christmas card just proved this one big theory.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's 2024 holiday card is here, and it's giving us all the feels—but it also quietly answers the question everyone has been asking for years: will we see Archie and Lilibet's faces again?

This year's card not only offers a rare and heartwarming glimpse into their family life with Prince Archie, 5, and Princess Lilibet, 3, but it's also a reminder of the boundaries they've drawn around their children's privacy—especially as they grow older.

While their faces were featured on the family's 2021 Christmas card, the Sussexes' approach has noticeably shifted.

In 2022 and 2023, the children didn't feature on the card at all. In 2024, they're included, but not their faces.

A source close to the couple told People in September: "Harry has been reluctant to show his children publicly, not out of a desire to hide them but to protect their privacy and safety from potential threats. He wants them to lead as normal a life as possible without the fear of kidnapping or harm."

They added: "As a dad and husband, Harry is determined to ensure that history doesn't repeat itself," referencing Harry's mother, Princess Diana.

First new photos of the kids in years.

Shared over email, the Sussexes' Christmas card features a series of images that chronicle their year. Naturally, we all zeroed into the top centre image: the family photo.

Set against a lush green backdrop, the image feels like a story in itself: Harry and Meghan standing with open arms, joyfully embracing the moment as Archie and Lilibet run toward them.

It's not just festive—it's a snapshot of connection, a symbol of the life they've carefully built away from the royal spotlight. And if you're wondering, yes—Archie and Lilibet are still rocking their dad's red hair, and it's adorable.

They have their backs to the camera, so you can't see their faces, but the joy in the photo is crystal clear.

Also making an appearance? The Sussexes' furry family members: black Labrador Pula and their rescue beagles, Guy and Mia. It's a picture of pure family bliss.

The Sussexes included a heartfelt message on the Christmas card, which read: "On behalf of the office of Prince Harry and Meghan, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Archewell Productions and Archewell Foundations. We wish you a very Happy Holiday Season and a joyful new year."

For fans of the Sussexes, this card is a bit of a holiday gift in itself.

It's the first time we've seen new images of Archie and Lilibet since their Netflix docuseries Harry & Meghan aired two years ago.

The last time the kids appeared on a holiday card was in 2021 when we got the first-ever photo of baby Lilibet.

Since then, Harry and Meghan have chosen to keep their children out of the public eye—a decision Meghan has spoken about as a way to protect their privacy and shield them from the internet's often harsh realities.

For 2024, we've had a glimpse into their growing family, with many fans commenting on just how much the little ones have grown. But it was all done without needing to show their faces in full, without needing to strip them of their anonymity.

It's both a heartwarming reminder of how much has changed—and how much they've built since stepping back from royal duties—as it is a statement about their family. That they don't intend to place their children in the spotlight anytime soon.

The card isn't just about family moments. It also includes snapshots from Harry and Meghan's year of philanthropy and advocacy.

Among the six images are scenes from their travels to Colombia and Nigeria, trips that highlight their commitment to causes that matter deeply to them.

Their visit to Colombia in August focused on mental health initiatives, while their time in Nigeria was particularly meaningful for Meghan, who shared her pride in discovering her Nigerian heritage.

The trips aren't just about raising awareness; they're about connection and impact, which are at the heart of everything Harry and Meghan do through their Archewell Foundation.

And let's not forget Harry's ongoing work with his polo documentary, which also gets a nod on the card.

Whether it's through sports, mental health advocacy, or global travel, the Sussexes have shown they're committed to making a difference—and this card reflects that.

A new kind of holiday tradition.

The Sussexes latest card is a far cry from the royal Christmas cards of the past, which often feel polished and posed.

Instead, this card feels personal—a celebration of love, family, and purpose. It's clear that Harry and Meghan are creating their own traditions, ones that blend festive joy with a sense of meaning and connection.

In a recent interview with Marie Claire, Meghan also opened up about celebrating the holidays with her children.

"I love the holidays," she shared. "Archie and Lilibet are now three and five, so every year it gets better."

She added how the experience of parenting during the Christmas season has changed for her family over the years.

"At first, I think as a mum with children, you're just enjoying having them there, but they're not understanding everything that's happening yet," she explained, adding, "But now we're at the age where I just can't wait to see it through their lens every year."

For the Sussexes, their latest holiday card isn't just about looking back on a year of family milestones and meaningful work—it's about sharing the life they've built together.

And honestly, it's the kind of card that reminds us what the holidays are all about: family, love, and finding happiness in the moments that matter most.
