Britain’s most cheeky royal has landed Down Under.
Prince Harry has touched down in Canberra this morning, ready to begin his month-long secondment with the Australian Defence Force.
The young royal, also known as Captain Wales, arrived in the nation’s capital on a Royal Australian Air Force jet at 8:30am today after stopping in Dubai and Sydney on his way from London.
Immaculate in his white British Army dress uniform, Harry travelled straight to the Australian War Memorial – his sole official public appearance in Australia – where he was joined by Governor-General Sir Peter Cosgrove and other dignitaries, including the head of the Memorial, Brendan Nelson, and Chief of Defence Marshal Mark Binskin.
“Prince Harry is tremendously looking forward to starting his four week attachment with the ADF,” the Daily Mail reported a spokesman to have said.
“It has been an opportunity he has been keen to explore for a couple of years now and is delighted to be able to do it before completing his military service with the British Armed Forces later this year.”
Harry has visited Australia twice before and has also previously served with the Australian Armed Forces, most notably during his two tours in Afghanistan.
"He has met [Australian troops] during the Invictus Games and even trekked to the South Pole with a couple of Australian soldiers," the Daily Mail reported the spokesman to have said.
"Those experiences reinforced the huge admiration and respect he already had for Australian servicemen and women and has stoked his enthusiasm even more to build on those relationships in the next four weeks."
