Dating supermodels and hanging with royalty: what the cast of Pretty Little Liars are up to now.

At one point it was the most tweeted about show on TV, with fans desperate to find out the identity of "A". 

Pretty Little Liars ran for seven glorious seasons, airing its final episode 2017. 

At the time, its cast of leading ladies; Lucy Hale, Shay Mitchell, Ashley Benson, Troian Bellisario, Sasha Pieterse and Janel Parrish were huge stars – but what happened once the cameras stopped rolling and their promotional commitments wrapped?

Almost all have had babies, most are loved-up, one dated a supermodel, and another got an invite to a royal wedding – can you guess who?

Lucy Hale: Aria Montgomery

"After the show ended, it was a dark time in my life. It made me realise, 'Oh God, I actually don't know what I like about myself,'" Hale told People in 2021.

Having spent close to a decade living and breathing her character Aria Montgomery, the 34-year-old came crashing back to reality when the series finale aired in 2017.

"The show changed our lives overnight. We were so young, so busy and overworked," she said. 

It's the 'overworked' part that might have something to do with Lucy choosing a more low-key existence these days. Six years after the show wrapped, she's taken on roles in several straight-to-streaming films and picked up work as a "regular" on shows like Life Sentence, Katy Keene and most recently, Ragdoll in 2021.

Shay Mitchell: Emily Fields

Mitchell, it seems, was similarly overwhelmed by the overnight success of the show. 

"Being on Pretty Little Liars and going from zero to 100 really quick, it forced me to learn how to prioritise my time," she told Teen Vogue in 2019, after welcoming her first child, daughter Atlas. "We had such long shoot dates. When we weren't shooting, we were promoting the show and doing photo shoots. And we had to travel so much! It taught me how to organise my time. Especially now that I've added a baby to my life, that's been invaluable."

Despite all that hard work, in 2017, Mitchell jumped straight into the next acting job when the show, wrapped, landing the role of Peach in Netflix's You, opposite Penn Badgley.

In 2018, she appeared in The Possession of Hannah Grace, and in 2019, Dollface.

Since then, the 36-year-old has focused on motherhood, collaborating with fashion brands and influencing.

In June 2022, she and partner Matte Babel welcomed their second child, daughter Rome.

Ashley Benson: Hanna Marin

Hanna Marin's dating life was a pivotal part of the PLL plot, and off screen, her relationship status has kept her in the headlines. On the set of her 2018 film, Her Smell, Benson met British supermodel and actress Cara Delevingne. They dated for two years before splitting in 2020.

Benson then fell for rapper G-Eazy, who she had an on-again-off-again relationship with until 2022.

In February of this year, she made headlines again when she was spotted with Brandon Davis, the grandson of oil tycoon Marvin Davis.

We should mention that Benson's done a bit of acting since exiting PLL, but took a break during the pandemic. That time off was exactly what she needed to find her path in life. "I've always been very interested in having other businesses and forms of work outside of being an actor," she told Elle Australia after unveiling her sunglass brand, Privé Revaux.

Troian Bellisario: Spencer Hastings

"I feel like my life is going to be a little unrooted for awhile, and that's exciting and scary, which are kind of the same feeling," Bellisario told W Magazine as the curtain closed on PLL. "I do feel like for the first time in my life I get to decide who I want to be, and that's going to be a journey."

Bellisario lived a free-spirited existence since hanging up her Spencer Hastings hat in 2017. She's dabbled in acting, but has primarily focused on raising her daughters, who she shares with Suits actor, Patrick J. Adams. She was actually pregnant with her daughter Aurora when she and Patrick were guests at Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's wedding in 2018. Three years later, they welcomed their second girl, Elliot.

Sasha Pieterse: Alison DiLaurentis

Can you believe Pieterse was just 12 years old when she started filming PLL alongside her on-screen classmates, who were 10 years her senior?

But she wasn't ready to say goodbye to her character Alison DiLaurentis in 2017. In 2019, she reprised the role in the series spinoff Pretty Little Liars: The Perfectionists.

Between both projects, in May 2018, Sasha married her longtime love Hudson Sheaffer. In November 2020, they welcomed their first child, a son named Hendrix.

Ian Harding: Ezra Fitz

Harding played paedophile teacher Ezra Fitz – yes, we're going to call him that because that's what he was - who 'romanced' his students and eventually became engaged to Aria Montgomery.

After filming wrapped, 36-year-old Harding released a memoir called Odd Birds, before landing a recurring role on Chicago Med two years later. He also appeared in Ford v Ferrari. That same year he married his girlfriend of eight years, photographer Sophie Hart.

More recently, in September 2022, he and Sophie welcomed their first child.

Janel Parrish: Mona Vanderwaal

Janel Parrish's career has gone from strength to strength post-PLL. Since 2017, she's played Margot in Netflix's To All The Boys I've Loved Before and each of its sequels, as well as the 2023 spinoff.

The 34-year-old also starred in 2018's Trespassers, Tiger, and I'll Be Watching. In 2019, she reprised her role of Mona in the PLL spinoff, and by 2020 she'd starred in Until We Meet Again.
