Children of porn stars have shared what it was really like growing up.

Growing up is hard enough, but it’s got to be even tougher when your parents are porn stars.

In a revealing Reddit thread, the children of porn stars have opened up about what childhood is really like when your parents are adult movie stars.

Zer0eater revealed that his mother was a Miss Nude World Champion, a Penthouse Pet and that she also starred in some ‘solo porn’.

“I always knew. Well, at least as far back as I could know I suppose. When I was a kid, I always met my mom’s friends, and quickly knew their titles as well (Oh she’s Miss such and such of So and So magazine). The rest of the family knew too, and they hated it. We’ve always been somewhat separate from them because of it,” he wrote.

Zer0eater explained that it wasn’t him knowing about it that was the problem, but other kids finding out about it.

“Every few years word would get around on the playground, and fist-fights would start. It wasn’t until high-school though, that some of the other students were 18 and could go to the strip club my mother worked at. More fights.”

It also affected Zer0eater’s relationships with women: “My standards for what women should look like are incredibly high. I was told my entire life, while seeing pictures of my mom’s friends naked, ‘This isn’t sexual’.”

Reddit user rrosulek revealed that growing up with a porn star mum was pretty normal, except for her being absent at weird times.

“It took me a while to really understand what she was. I have very early memories of seeing hundreds of porn videos lying around her office,” he wrote.

“I will say that being around that environment started me being sexual at an early age. Once I was older I kinda used it to brag to my friends. It was a secret that only my close friends knew, but one that I didn’t feel the need to be embarrassed by.”

ixmagine revealed that her mother was a single mum who starred in adult videos to pay the bills.

"I've known about it as long as I can remember, and I've even seen her do shows. She kept a blog for 20 years that was extremely detailed not only about her sex life but also about my childhood and details such as my first period and first vibrator."

But her mum's job meant that ixmagine was targeted by the other kids at school.

"All the school kids knew about it, and I look just like my mom too which made it worse. Every single day the boys would be on her site and teasing me about whatever her latest post was, and they had all seen my mother's body," she added.

And throwawaymomporn said she was around 11 years old when she realised her mum was a porn star, and weirdly, she saw this as an opportunity to get Maccas for dinner.

"It was in the car, she was getting me back home after my swimming practice, and I asked her, totally out of the blue: 'that's porn movies, that you play in, right?'. She looked back at me through the inside mirror of the car, and I never saw her face like that. It was not exactly shame, but... I still don't know what it was. Perhaps it was a mix of relief and fear. It has been the only time I've seen this expression on her face. She nodded "yes" to me. Because of the expression, I knew it was like a "decisive time". So i just went full sincere and answered "OK, cool. Can we eat at McDonald's?'."
