I first noticed the trend had gone large when I spotted What The Teacher Wears blogger Alex Paterson in a splendid pair recently.

Of course, I’m talking about pom pom sandals. Yes, pom poms – the fun, poofy things cheerleaders usually hold but much more colourful, on a much smaller scale, and on your feet.

I teamed it with my @tokoemporium Pom Pom Sandals today for extra colour.

If you haven’t noticed them shimmying onto shelves and the feet of social media influencers recently, prepare to as the weather warms up. These guys are set to achieve global foot domination.

Think lace-up sandals, wedge sandals, heeled sandals, and regular ole’ strap sandals all embellished with bright pom poms.

Will you look a little bit like a clown in a pair of these? Yes, yes you will. Will you get an intense burst of joy every time you look down at your feet? Yes, you most definitely will. And joy trumps clown-like every damn time.
