Introducing Diary of a Birth... Mamamia's new podcast sharing extraordinary birth stories.

It's the day that everything changes.

The day your world tilted on its axis. It often starts with a twinge - was that it? Or just another false alarm? But then comes another, stronger this time. You glance at the clock: 2:37 AM. Of course.

You scream for the car, the bag, anything. You're nervous, not ready but so ready and oh my gosh - this is it!!

The next few hours blurred into a haze of contractions, breathing exercises, and anxious excitement. You're prepared for this moment, but nothing could truly prepare you for the intensity of it all.

Time seems to stretch and compress in equal measure. Each contraction feels like an eternity, yet the hours slip by in a flash. You never knew you could be so exhausted yet so alert.

And then, suddenly, it's time.

With a strength you didn't know you possessed, this little person arrives. A cry - strong, insistent, alive. Your baby. Your baby. In your arms, this tiny being you'd been nurturing for nine months. They're real. They're here. And they're… yours.

Time stands still. You count those tiny fingers and toes, marvel at their shape of nose, the curve of their lips. Utter perfection, a miracle made flesh.

In that moment you understand. You know what people mean when they say your life changes forever. It isn't the sleepless nights or responsibilities ahead. It is this - this overwhelming, all-encompassing love that fills every cell of your being.

This day - this beautiful, terrifying, miraculous day - will forever be imprinted. The day you became a mother. The day everything changed.

Every mother has a birth story and every story is completely unique. Here at Mamamia we want to hear them all. That's why we are introducing Diary Of A Birth, Mamamia's new podcast.

Each week, the audience will be taken inside the delivery room to hear about a real, raw birth experience. Hosted by journalist, presenter, and mum of two, Ksenija Lukich, the weekly show combines long-form storytelling with expert advice, with leading Paediatrician, Dr. Golly, dropping by after each birth story to debrief with the audience.
