Trigger warning: This post deals with sexual assault.
“What do you want from me?” He could hear her say.
“Get off me.”
A Queensland court has heard the horrifying contents of a phone call made by a woman while she was reportedly being raped in June 2013.
Yesterday, Southport District Court heard from a witness who claims to have received a call from his 22-year-old friend while she was allegedly being assaulted by 25-year-old Toby Shaw.
It is alleged the Defence Force member met the victim at a club in Surfer’s Paradise before the pair went home together.
The court heard Shaw then raped the woman outside her door, and then twice again inside her home.
The following day the victim went for a medical examination which recorded possible signs of a struggle, including bruises and scratch marks.
Shaw was subsequently charged with three counts of rape, occurring in June 2013.
The friend of the victim said he received phone calls from her during the assault, and could hear her screaming “get off me” and “what do you want from me?”
The 28-year-old witness also said he received messages from the woman that said “help” and “please”.
