This MKR judge is officially off the market.

Very exciting news for Pete Evans and his girlfriend.

Finals week isn’t the only excitement in the MKR kitchen, with judge Pete Evans revealing he’s engaged to stunning Kiwi model Nicola Robinson. In a exclusive with New Idea Evans, 40, says he popped the question to Robinson, 37, while on holiday in New York.

He describes the the proposal as a “beautiful moment”.

Robinson says:

There we were in New York talking away and I said: ‘Gosh if we ever get married, taking our loved ones on holiday would be a wonderful way to do it. Of course I began to cry tears of happiness when he replied; ‘Right, let’s do it, let’s get married’. We both felt overwhelmed with love.

Evans says they’d never really thought about marriage but felt it was the right thing to do at the right time. Because it was a spontaneous decision, there’s no engagement ring yet but they plan to buy a greenstone  ring when they are next in her native New Zealand.

The celebrity couple met in Adelaide three years ago. Robinson is a model and ex-reality TV star who is also goes by the name Nicky Watson. She was previously married to millionaire Warriors league club owner Eric Watson. They divorced in 2003.

During a 2007 television interview, the model admitted to attempting suicide, undergoing three breast augmentations, using drugs, having threesomes, watching porn and not wearing underwear. However she has chosen to live a more low-key life of late, reverting to her birth name, from Nicky Watson to Nicola Robinson, and making much healthier choices.

The couple plan to get hitched early next year after the launch of their new online health and fitness program, The Paleo Way.

Evans has two daughters from a previous long-term relationship with Astrid Ellinger. They are Chilli, 9, and Indii, 7.

“We would definitely love to be blessed with more children in our lives one day,” Robinson told New Idea. “If it happens, wonderful. If not, I’m very lucky to be sharing Chilli and Indii’s lives.”

Ellinger, 44, has previously expressed shock that Evans hooked up with someone like Robinson. She told The Sunday Telegraph, “He’s got more famous and it inevitably changes anyone,” the mother-of-two said. “All I’m going to say is Pete has had down-to-earth girlfriends so I’m not sure what’s happened now. I’m a down-to-earth and natural person. I don’t know what she is like.”

She was still clearly upset while speaking with the tabloid in January of 2012, refusing to give details of their split but saying, “She can have him if she wants.”

“I have Googled (Watson) and I am shocked, she is not the type of girl Pete would usually go for. I am shocked,” she said. “I do not know what has happened. I don’t care. I am just getting on with my life and they can go to it.”
