'I've been on a mission to find the best size-inclusive jeans. Here are the best ones I've found.'

Shopping for jeans can be a scary task no matter your shape or size.

However, when we're plus size it's even trickier because not many stores stock our sizes in actual stores so we can't even try them on!

As a plus-size fashion content creator, one of the most common questions I get asked by my community is 'where can I find plus size jeans'.

So I've decided to make it my personal mission to shop and share as many different styles and brands as I can.

Let me tell you, it wasn't the easiest of tasks because even though there is an abundance of jeans out there, not all of them are suitable for my shape. I had to be very strategic in my selections as I wanted to share a range of styles, colours and cuts.

So after trying multiple brands and styles I feel confident in sharing my top picks.

Here are my top five brands to shop when searching for your unicorn plus size jeans.

1. ASOS.

ASOS surprised me — but in a really really good way. They had a great selection of jeans in their plus size category. The feature I liked best was that they had some brands where you could shop your size and length — as a gal on the shorter side this was a game changer. I purchased four pairs to share with my followers and honestly could have kept all four! The returns process is also super simple which is a big selling point for me when I am buying multiple styles and sizes of something to try.

2. Just Jeans.

Just Jeans started a curve range about 12 months ago and although it hasn't really been advertised much, they do have a really great selection. I ordered four pairs in different styles and was really happy with the fit of all the pairs. I could comfortably shop my normal size 20 and they all fit in the waist to perfection. I found the styles more classic and great for everyday wear. The quality was fantastic with the price range being super reasonable. I really wish they would start stocking their curve range in store because I know it would do really well. It's definitely a brand I’ll be shopping frequently now!

3. Mango.

Mango is a European brand that I only recently discovered. This means online shopping only, but they have a really user friendly app. They have a great curve range, and their denim is so good! I took a risk buying a pair of jeans that I loved — they are in euro sizing, and it was a little confusing but I just took the plunge and honestly, I have zero regrets! Their return policy is super simple and free, so it made me feel more confident when making the purchase. Their denim is more rigid, with not a lot of stretch — a style I would normally avoid until I realised that they actually work much better for my curves than a stretch denim. My Mango jeans have to be my most asked about jeans — every single time I wear them I get asked where they are from.

4. Cotton On.

Cotton On are definitely your place to shop if you are looking for those trending denim styles — think low rise, edgy and baggy! When trying different styles from Cotton On, I was well and truly stepping out of my comfort zone, but I was pleasantly surprised. The quality was top notch, and the price point was extremely good. They were again a more rigid denim, but it made the fit of them perfect. The only negative was they were all very, very long so be prepared to get them altered if you are on the shorter side. Again, I wish they were stocked in stores because denim is so hard buying online only!

My top pick: The Original Straight Jean in Lake Blue with Rips, $59.99.

5. The Iconic.

The Iconic is always my one stop shop for jeans! Not only do they have an easy-to-use app and free returns but they stock a huge variety of plus size brands. They have options that are more classic or trending, so it's a good way to figure out what works for you. The Iconic was the first brand I shared when I started this quest and they were great! I have since bought two more pairs over the last few months and I am always happy.

My top tips for finding the perfect pair of jeans as a plus size woman.

1. Don't worry about the length — focus on the fit in the waist and legs. Denim is so easy to have hemmed or if you're lazy like me, they can easily be cut!

2. Find a style that suits your body shape — don't get caught up in the trends! You want a pair that is going to work for you and your style - not a pair that will sit in your wardrobe.

3. Always have a pair of jeans that you can easily dress up for a night out. No matter what anyone says, jeans and a nice top will always work when you don’t know what to wear.

4. Be patient and try try try! You may need to try on 10, 15 even 20 pairs before you find that perfect pair. But when you do find the perfect pair, it will all be worth it… trust me I can speak from experience.

5. If shopping online, read the size guides and the reviews. Plus size women often think that rigid denim means we need to size up two sizes — but I have found that isn't actually the case. Size guides and reviews will be the biggest support when shopping online for jeans!
