My entire life feels like a covert operation to find time to read. I’ll go to any lengths to get just a few minutes with my favourite magazine from sitting in the driveway after arriving home, hoping nobody heard me driving in.
I just want to finish reading this one story.
We have a cross trainer at home and instead of watching a TV show on Netflix I’ll flip through a magazine. Well, when I say “flip” I mean awkwardly hold with one hand while holding onto the cross trainer handle with the other while trying to read.
Sometimes when I have a whole day of nothing to do on the weekend I’ll just sit down with a cup of tea and read and issue instructions to my children about what they can eat and do, while barely moving. It’s bliss. Living the dream.
