Paris Jackson has pleaded with fans to stop editing her photos to change the colour of her skin.

As well as invites to VIP events, millions of social media followers and your every move charted by the media, celebrities will regularly get dedicated fans sending them drawings or photo edits they’ve done of them.

Social media is full of them, and often celebrities will react or repost their favourites. Michael Jackson‘s daughter is one of them – in fact her pinned tweet is one such creation – but there’s one aspect of the practice she’s not a fan of.

“I appreciate everything ya’ll make for me, I enjoy every single edit I see but please stop lightening my skin to make me look more white,” she tweeted to her 1.36 million followers.

“Please stop darkening my skin to make me look more mixed. I am what I am. I’m aware of what I look like and I’m finally happy with it.”

In another tweet to a fan, the 19 year old said she is sometimes told she doesn’t look “mixed enough” to be bi-racial.

Jackson’s father, singer Michael, was black, and her mother, Debbie Rowe, a nurse Michael met while being treated for vitilgo, is white.

The pair had two children, Michael Joseph Jackson Jr now known as Prince and Paris. They married in 1996 and were divorced in 1999.

After her message, many of Jackson’s creative fans were happy to oblige and apologised if they had upset her.

She also hit back at media claims she “lashed out” at fans in her request.
