
The first trailer for Outlander: Blood of my Blood, the highly anticipated prequel series to the beloved global phenomenon Outlander, has been released.
Blood of my Blood will premiere on August 9, exclusively on Stan in Australia, and chronicles the events that led to the Outlander TV series, which ran for eight seasons and starred Caitríona Balfe and Sam Heughan. Outlander was based on the best-selling books of the same name by Diana Gabaldon.
As a refresher, Outlander told the story of Claire Randall (Balfe), who was visiting Inverness, Scotland in 1945 when she was carried back in time to 1743 by the stone circle at Craigh na Dun. It was there that she met and fell in love with Jamie Fraser (Heughan). Their epic love story provided the central plot to the long-running series.
The upcoming eighth and final season of Outlander will comprise of 10 episodes, which will finally bring the story of Jamie and Claire to an end, but fans of the series can still stay firmly ensconced in this world.
This new series explores the lives and relationships of two couples as they fight against all odds to be together: the parents of Outlander's Claire Randall — Julia Moriston (Hermione Corfield) and Henry Beauchamp (Jeremy Irvine); and those of Outlander's Jamie Fraser — Ellen MacKenzie (Harriet Slater) and Brian Fraser (Jamie Roy).

Outlander: Blood of my Blood is billed aa a romantic tale that unfolds across time.
