Anne Hathaway shared an awkward picture to remind us she was the world's worst Oscar host.

This year’s Oscars will be host-less.

While people are pretty damn nervous about how the awards show is going to run without a host, Anne Hathaway has reminded us that it could be… so much worse.

The actress posted a photo of her and James Franco hosting the 2011 Oscars on her Instagram account before the 2019 awards show kicked off.

She added the caption: “No matter what happens with today’s show, just remember, it’s already been worse”.

You see, when the pair hosted the Oscars it didn’t end… well. 

They were completely mismatched as co-hosts, they had zero chemistry, and Franco seemed to find the whole event mildly amusing.

In fact, it was downright cringe-worthy with Hathaway acting like an over-eager theatre kid and Franco being, well, Franco.

Hathaway has since told People that she didn’t want the hosting gig, but Franco convinced her to do it.

“Can I dish some tea?” she said. “I turned that gig down, and James is the one that convinced me to do it.”

The actress even went as far to say that she thinks the whole debacle was a result of Franco being a practical joker.

“If he had turned around and said ‘I’m pranking you right now’, I think I would have been okay with it,” she said.

“I would have been like ‘That sucks but it’s epic’. So he might still turn around and do that on all of us, by the way.

“When all the dust settled I was just like ‘You’ve got to be kidding me’. Your first instinct is usually the right one and all the reasons why I turned it down, came true.”

Don’t worry Anne, we still love you.
