Oscar Pistorius was found ‘praying over Reeva’s body’

On the fourth day of Oscar Pistorius’s murder trial, a witness has given evidence detailing the final moments of Reeva Steenkamp’s life after she was shot. Radiologist Johan Stipp has told the High Court of his experience, arriving to Steenkamp’s aid to find Pistorius distraught: “He was crying, he was praying, he was talking to God, he was telling God to ‘let her live, please don’t let her die.’ He was making promises to God, he was trying. I don’t know, to get atonement.” Pistorius was seen weeping and shaking in the dock, with his head down and at times covering his ears as the doctor spoke.

Aussie journos kicked out of Indonesia

Two Australian journalists, who have been covering the Schapelle Corby case on tourist visas, are being deported from Indonesia. Daniel Sutton, a Ten Network correspondent and Nathan Richter, a freelance photographer were both found outside the Corby family's compound and have been blacklisted, preventing them from returning to Indonesia for at least six months after they return home. Sutton says he had only been in Bali for a few hours to cover the story, when he was approached by immigration officials during a random sweep of journalists. Both Sutton and Richter are currently on a fight home.

Backpacker 'ate flies' while lost in QLD outback

A German tourist has revealed that he survived on flies in outback Queensland when he became stranded by floodwaters, according to police. Daniel Dudzisz (left), 26, was backpacking in the south-west of Longreach when he became lost and stranded for 10 days between two sections of the Barcoo River. He was reported missing and picked up by a motorist yesterday. Mr Dudzisz told police he ate flies to survive and had to walk through flood waters to escape.

Which country's men do the most housework?

A new survey released by the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development has found that Norwegian men do the most housework and household chores and Japanese men do the least. Apparently Norwegian men spend around 180 minutes a day doing housework. It also found the Turkish women spend the most time doing housework and that when comparing 34 countries on the basis of unpaid work, 'women are slowly closing the gap with men as more have careers.'

As if Oscar-winning actress, Cate Blanchett couldn't be any more popular, a commercial that she starred in from the mid-1990s has resurfaced and unveiled her as 'the Tim Tam girl.' The catchy commercial sees a young Cate sitting in an attic with a genie who grants her three wishes. Cate asks for 'a packet of Tim Tams that never runs out.' The commercial was played during the TV screening of Australian shows Water Rats, A Country Practice and Blue Heelers.
