The biggest day in Hollywood is almost upon us. Let's hear it for Oscars season, baby.
This morning, actors Rachel Sennott and Bowen Yang took to the stage to reveal the nominations for the 97th Academy Awards, kicking off the final stretch of awards season excitement.
Emilia Pérez dominated the nominations with 13 Oscar nods, followed by Wicked and The Brutalist with 10 each. Conclave and A Complete Unknown also scored eight nominations, including Best Picture.
Star Karla Sofía Gascón, from Emilia Pérez, has made history in the Best Actress category, becoming the first openly trans actress to be nominated. At just 25, Mikey Madison earned her first nomination for Anora, as did Demi Moore, who recently won a Golden Globe for her performance in The Substance.
There were, of course, some big names missing off the list.
Nicole Kidman was snubbed for Babygirl (actually, the whole movie was), as were Angelina Jolie for Maria and Selena Gomez for Emilia Pérez. Pamela Anderson also didn't get her dues for Last Showgirl.
Meanwhile, Denzel Washington's performance in Gladiator II didn't make the cut, along with Daniel Craig in Queer.
Wicked got a whopping 10 nominations. Image: Universal Pictures.
