When Oprah Winfrey gives you advice, you'd do well to listen — even if you're the world's biggest teenage star.
During her interview with Justin Bieber, airing on OWN, the talk show legend advises the pop star to "rethink" his life plan of getting married by 25.
We love how blunt Oprah is with the 18-year-old singer, telling him that it would be a mistake to settle down before he gets through his 20s.
"I think 25's too young. I really do," she tells a mildly stunned Bieber. "And particularly for you, because your whole 20s is about discovering who you really are. And you owe that to yourself, particularly because you're in the business that you're in: it's not a lot of self-discovery time."
Bieber responds by saying he's not totally committed to the idea of marrying young ("We'll see when I get there"), and he promises Oprah he'll take her advice to heart. "I mean — you are Oprah, you're telling me not to get married at 25, I should probably listen to you," he says with a grin. Though he adds that definitely wants "a handful" of kids.
But who will be the mother of those children? This time last year, we would have put our money on Selena Gomez, as the young lovebirds were fighting off engagement rumors. But these days, things are looking a lot less certain for the duo.
Following reports of a breakup earlier this month, Gomez, 20, and Bieber have been seen alternately fighting and snuggling around Los Angeles. At the moment, it looks like they're in a happy place: The former Disney Channel star and "As Long As You Love Me" singer joined a group of friends for dinner at Benihana on Monday night. (It presumably went better than their last Japanese-food date, which ended in an argument before the food had even arrived.) Bieber and Gomez were also photographed holding hands after Sunday night's American Music Awards ceremony.
