When I started working the early shift and starting work at the ripe hour of 6.30am, I knew my morning routine was going to look a little different.

Long gone were the days of slowly making my coffee, sitting down to do my hair, picking out an outfit the morning of and definitely no time for makeup.

In order to swiftly roll out of bed and be at the station 20 minutes later, my daily makeup routine has now been shoved into a short break I have after the morning rush.

Which means that I now must keep a carefully selected handful of makeup at my desk.

I have one goal — efficiency. I want this makeup to take up the least amount of space and the least amount of time while still looking perfectly presentable for my "corporate" job.

It's been a few months and I think I've finally nailed everything needed for a quick, glowy, office makeup look. Here's everything I keep in my beauty bag.

Charlotte Tilbury Unreal Skin Sheer Glow Tint Hydrating Foundation Stick, $67.

Even before the morning shift, I was never really one to wear foundation to work. I found it way too heavy and left me looking clogged, patchy and dry at the end of the day.

That was until I was introduced to the Charlotte Tilbury Foundation Sticks. It's in the name, somehow this foundation is super light and keeps my skin looking and feeling hydrated throughout the day, without slowly flaking off. It balances out my uneven skin tone, covers blemishes but isn't so heavy that you can feel it sitting there on your face.

If I had to describe it, it's just my skin, but better. Huzzah.

Glossier Stretch Balm Concealer, $38.

If I'm being totally honest, I originally bought this concealer because of how cute and little it is. And while that's still 100% true and makes for a great 'desk concealer', it's actually also, really good.

My rule for office makeup is: everything is better if I can apply it with my fingers.

It may be small, but it has power. I use it under my eyes and on any blemishes and it immediately hides them away! Also, a little goes a long way, so you won't have to be constantly ducking to Mecca.

This is now a non-negotiable for my morning-shift eye bags.

Mecca Off-Duty Contour and Blush Sticks, $22.

I've tried my hand at countless contours and cream blushes. What I can tell you for a fact is that I just keep coming back to these babies.

The Mecca Off-Duty sticks are truly a staple in my makeup bag, both home and office! Yes, I bought some specifically for each location.

They're so easy to apply, simple to blend and stay looking fantastic for the entire day. Plus, they're much more affordable than any of their popular counterparts — huge win.

OXX Cosmetics Dual Ended Foundation Brush, $10.

Now, I know I said I only want products that don't require brushes, but hear me out.

On my last trip to Kmart, I bought this double-sided foundation brush and let's circle back to my key word here, EFFICIENCY!

Is it the same quality as the uber expensive brushes you get from Mecca or Sephora? Well, no. But I'm here to say it gets. The. Job. Done. And it only takes up 50% of the space in your make-up bag for double the use. Trust me on this one.

Mecca Max Vol. Tubing Mascara, $28.

Look, there's no reason that this mascara has made its way into my office-specific roundup, because I definitely also wear it on the weekends. It's just such a great mascara that lasts all day and most importantly, does not smudge.

And because it's 'tubing' it makes it super easy to remove after a long day at work, when all you want to do is crawl into bed, blank-faced with a bag of chips and latest episode of Tell Me Lies.

Peppr Sculpt+Stain Lip Liner Marker, $34.

I'm calling it, this could be my favourite step of my makeup routine.

Lip stains are having a real moment and for good reason. Who has time to constantly be reapplying lip liner when they're slaying the corporate world?! This way, you can apply one coat and your lips are left with a splash of colour throughout the day.

Peppr has a wide range of shades (I may have three) and are super easy to apply (goodbye to you, peel-able stains) so it fits in nicely in your work bag.

Summer Fridays Lip Butter Balm, $41.

The last absolutely vital (in my opinion) stage of office makeup, is a tinted lip gloss.

May I remind you of efficiency? If I can get my hydration hit and a colour top up in one application, well, sign me right up.

These balms are definitely on the pricier side, but if your wallet permits, they're fantastic. The colour is perfectly subtle and they actually leave you feeling hydrated, so you don't constantly need to reapply.

Perfect to keep on your desk in that dry aircon air!
