1. Toxic NSW school accused of killing its staff and students as they launch class action against the Department of Education and Communities.

More than 300 former staff and students from a school where 30 have already died from cancer and blood disorders have launched a class action against the NSW Department of Education and Communities.

Half of them are suffering with a cancer diagnosis while other students, from NSW’s former Camden High have blood disorders and lupus. Many women have suffered infertility as a result or their children were born with birth defects.

News Limited reports that Camden High School was built beside a former gas works that was shut down in 2001. The land has remained empty since then but the 2.6ha site was sold by the Department of Education for $7.5 million. It is believed a retirement home will be built on the site.

Former students have told of lighting a piece of paper and throwing it down a drain to see it “exploding” others have told of a “black gooey” substance seeping from the ground.

One former student Natasha Hoare, told News Limited: “We found out lots of others were sick with cancer or thyroid problems, struggling to have children, or even having children that had birth defects,” she said. “There seemed to be too many of us that were not that old that were sick or dealing with something. It seemed strange.”

2. Father who reported stepdaughter for sexting is placed on sex offenders register himself.

A man who reported his stepdaughter to police for sexting has  been convicted of child porn offences and placed on the sex offenders register himself.

Victorian man, Ashan Ortell, caught his teen stepdaughter sexting her boyfriend. He says he confiscated her phone and reported the matter to her school and police.

According to The Herald Sun he also copied the 18 images to a USB and computer because he wanted police to investigate the matter further. But when police searched Ortell’s home and seized the two USBs and a laptop containing the images he was charged with possessing child pornography.

The judge said in sentencing it was an “unusual case.”

“The law says that people may not keep images of a sexual nature of children. Usually such images are kept for sexual motivation,” she said.

“That is not the case in your situation. You kept the images, I am satisfied, because you were very concerned about what had been going on and foolishly decided that this was the way to deal with it. Nevertheless the message has to get out to everybody that sexual images of children must not be kept on computers or any other form of equipment.”

3. Trump describes women over 35 as having hit “check out time.”

As today’s second debate between Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton nears, yet another sexist exchange from Donald Trump has been unearthed as CNN publishes a 2004 interview where Donald Trump agrees his own daughter is a “piece of ass.”

It comes as Trump's campaign reels from news of a 2005 recording in which the presidential hopeful graphically discusses groping women.

The exchange about his daughter, Ivanka Trump, was one of many discussions about sex CNN found Trump had with Howard Stern, a well-known shock jock over the course of 17 years.

In the September 2004 chat, Trump mentions daughter Ivanka, when Stern says "by the way, your daughter."

"She's beautiful," Trump says.

"Can I say this? A piece of a--," Stern responds.

"Yeah," Trump says.

In other interviews Trump discusses whether he'd had threesomes with the women in Miss Universe (no), his daughter’s breasts (no they aren’t fake) and the "perfect age" for women.

He said in 2002 that 30 is "a perfect age."

"What is at 35, Howard? It's called check-out time," Trump proclaimed.

The first round of questions in today's debate will be about Trump's sexist comments.

4. NSW Premier to announce a reversal of his greyhound racing ban.

The NSW Premier Mike Baird is expected to make an announcement today overturning the Greyhound Racing Prohibition Act, which parliament passed in August.

Under that law, greyhound racing would be banned in NSW from July 2017 with penalties of up to one year’s jail for anyone who conducted a race. But according to The Daily Telegraph, Mr Baird is backing away from that though there would be strict conditions.

Under a new plan there would be:

A total life cycle management for all greyhounds born into the industry.

A controlled breeding program which would limit the number of greyhounds being bred for racing in NSW to 2,000 annually.

A “zero tolerance” attitude towards animal cruelty.

Strict standards on racing to attempt to prevent injury to dogs.

5. Girls, aged 12, terrorised by clown as sinister clown craze takes hold.

Two 12-year-old girls have described the terrifying moment they were attacked by a clown on Saturday night, reports The Advertiser.

The Adelaide girls were in the CBD with one of their fathers buying ice cream when they were approached by a clown at about 9.30pm on Saturday night.

One of the girls posted about the incident on social media describing how the clown attacked her and tried to steal her phone.

“This is not a joke at all, they will attack you, beat you and steal your phone,” she wrote. “I am traumatised, I am shaking, we called the police, he kicked me ...”

The two girls kicked the clown and ran screaming into Hungry Jacks, hidding behind a counter.

“The lady at Hungry Jacks was so nice, she hid me behind a counter,” she wrote. “I was screaming and crying, so was (name with held) because she thought the clown took me away.”

“The lady at Hungry Jacks was so nice, she hid me behind a counter. I was screaming and crying. Guys, this isn’t a joke, watch out for the clowns."

SA Police confirmed a clown was reported in the area about 9.50pm.

Meanwhile in WA over the weekend, there have been a spate of creepy clown sightings with one woman claiming she hit a pedestrian wearing a clown suit. A 19-year-old man, dressed as a clown, also allegedly chased a group of teenage girls in the main shopping district of Northam, east of Perth, on Saturday night.

6. Boy, 6, drowns in backyard pool.

A six-year-old boy has drowned in a backyard swimming pool in Sydney's south-west.

The boy was found unconscious in the backyard pool just after 5.30pm.

Chief Inspector of Macquarie Fields Local Area Command, Dean Smith, issued a warning to homeowners to check backyard pools to ensure that they comply with safety laws.

"As a father and grandfather I encourage everyone to check and double-check their fences and gates to make sure everything complies to safety standards," he said.

"It takes 10 minutes to check your fencing and gates and those minutes could help prevent another tragedy like this from happening again."

He was rushed to the Children's Hospital at Westmead under a police escort but tragically died just after he arrived.

7. Australian man and British man face life in jail after Bali drug arrest.

An Australian man and a retired British journalist have been arrested in Bali for allegedly possessing cannabis.

Giuseppe Serration, 46, and David Matthew, 54, were arrested after drugs were found at a house in the suburb of Sanur.

Police said they found 7.32 grams of hashish at the home.

"We arrested an Australian man, GS, an entrepreneur, and DM, a retired British journalist," Denpasar police narcotics chief Gede Ganefo told Fairfax Media.

"Their respective consulates have been notified."

Both men were being held in jail pending further investigations.
