Truly, truly beautiful.
I always hear a lot of comments from people about how they think that newborn babies look like aliens. They’re quirky looking, sure, but in those first 24 hours of life they are truly beautiful beings.
Jenny Lewis, a British photographer has captured this beauty perfectly in a book called One Day Young. It is a book that captures the intimate beauty and raw reality of a mother and her baby within the first 24 hours of the baby’s life.
Lewis has created a series of new mothers and their newborns from East London. Describing what the images capture is incredibly hard to put in to words, because they’re like nothing else.
So instead I’ll let you see for yourself, the raw beauty that Lewis has captured.
