April has been a bit of a fever dream. One minute we were sweating through autumn heatwaves, the next we were digging out jumpers and googling "best heaters 2025 (just me?)"

Meanwhile, in beauty land, things have been busy. Our desks (and bathroom cabinets) are overflowing with everything from juicy serums to lush face masks — and yes, we've been doing the very important work of testing it all.

My You Beauty podcast co-host Sarah-Marie reminded me about how damn good this setting powder is. After rummaging through my makeup collection, I found it and have been using it almost every day this month. I use it to bake under my eyes for a few minutes before brushing away, and my concealer stays crease-free all day. A little goes a long way, so although the price tag is on the higher side, this tub will last you ages. My go-to shade is 'Banana Bread' which brightens my overall look." — Em Vernem, Lifestyle writer & podcast host.

"Once I find a good perfume, I stick with it so I have been wearing Victor&Rolf Flowerbomb for yearrrrs. It's one of those classic, floral fragrances that always gets me compliments, but I've just discovered her cute sister, Flowerbomb Ruby Orchard and I am obsessed. Definitely worth adding to your collection while Priceline has their Mothers Day Fragrance Sale on with up to half price on most fragrances. (Yes, this is me sending a not-so-subtle hint to my husband and daughter to get shopping.)" — Stacey Hicks, Deputy Editor.

"After battling with post-summer pigmentation, this serum has been my skin saviour. Within three weeks of consistent use, I noticed my dark spots visibly fading and my overall skin tone looking more even. What I love most is that it doesn't irritate my sensitive skin. It's definitely an investment piece, but considering the visible results and the fact you only need a small amount, I think it's worth every cent." — Em Vernem, Lifestyle writer and podcast host.

"I've been trying the Dermapen HOME for about three months now, and it's a game-changer. I personally love any beauty tool which means I don't have to leave my house (LED face mask, gel nails at home— the works). My skin is clearer and the texture feels so much smoother. Yes, it's a bit exxy, but considering what you would spend on micro needling treatments at a salon, it works out so much cheaper long term (girl math). I also love that it's actually painless unlike some other needling treatments and super easy to use at home!" — Kelsey Harper, Brand Partnerships Executive.
