'This might be the most ridiculous Netflix rom-com plot yet. And it's at the top of my watch list.'

Netflix is back with another delightfully silly rom-com, and honestly, we're absolutely here for every single ridiculous moment of it. The streaming giant has just dropped the trailer for The Wrong Paris, and it serves up exactly the kind of bonkers premise that reminds us exactly why we love a cheesy flick

Here's the plot: Dawn is from a small town, and has always dreamed of studying art in Paris, France. When she can't afford to get there, she signs up for a dating show called The Honeypot, which promises to take contestants to the City of Love.

After what she believes is a nine-hour international flight, Dawn and the other contestants arrive expecting French romance and cobblestone streets. Instead, they discover they're actually in Paris, Texas — just minutes from Dawn's hometown. The producers have orchestrated an elaborate fake flight to trick them into thinking they've travelled internationally.

The plot thickens when Dawn, understandably upset, decides to either get herself eliminated from the show or win the prize money at the end. It's a solid plan, really. But then — I mean, this is a rom-com after all — she starts catching feelings for the bachelor, Trey. Because of course she does.

Miranda Cosgrove — who we know and love as the ruling Nickelodeon queen in iCarly – plays our protagonist Dawn, starring opposite Pierson Fode, our rugged cowboy king.

The timing of this film couldn't be better either — with cowboy romance novels currently dominating BookTok and everyone suddenly very interested in rugged Texan charm, this film is riding the zeitgeist.

The supporting cast also includes Madison Pettis, Madeleine Arthur, Frances Fisher, Torrance Coombs, Yvonne Orji, Christin Park, Emilija Baranac, and Hannah Stocking. There's clearly going to be plenty of ensemble chaos to go around.

The film drops on 12 September 2025, which gives us just enough time to mentally prepare for what promises to be 105-odd minutes of pure, unadulterated romantic chaos. Sometimes you need a film that knows exactly how ridiculous it is and leans into that ridiculousness with complete commitment.

In a world where dating shows are already stranger than fiction, The Wrong Paris has found a way to make them even stranger. And honestly? We can't wait to see how this beautiful mess unfolds.
