Netflix just dropped their Christmas movie lineup and I hope you like small town nonsense.

Hot Snowmen. Women with amnesia. Wholesome small town strippers. Vanessa Hudgens playing Royal triplets involved in a jewellery heist. Every year, Netflix bravely asks the question, "What is the weirdest movie we could make about Christmas? And how can we involve 2–3 nostalgic actors?" And every year, they deliver.

Fortunately for true cinephiles such as myself, the time has come for a new content drop. Netflix just released their lineup of Christmas movies for 2025, including five Netflix Original Movies and a few borrowed favourites from the OG feel-good-movie creator, Hallmark. But it's the fresh new films that I'm here to talk about today.

Starting strong with a new release coming out November 12 (starring noughties favourites Alicia Silverstone and Melissa Joan Hart), and ending with a bang (a Mrs. Doubtfire-esque film featuring a Virgin River alum), they're dropping new releases every week in the lead-up to Christmas. Here's your guide to streaming through the holiday season.

All the new Netflix Original Christmas Movies in 2025.

A Merry Little Ex-Mas

Kate (Alicia Silverstone) and Everett (Oliver Hudson) are going through a divorce, and they're going to be very mature about it for the Christmas season. They will celebrate together! For the sake of the kids! What could go wrong? Oh, Everett is bringing his younger, more successful new girlfriend (Jameela Jamil) and Kate is going to behave very normal™ about all of that.

By which I mean, she is going to enter into a fake relationship with a cute boy (played by Pierson Fode, who truly endeared himself to me as a Netflix leading man in The Wrong Paris). Rounding out the cast is Sabrina The Teenage Witch star Melissa Joan Hart, who will be there to provide the giggles as Kate's sassy best friend.

Does it look like an Oscar winner? In my house, maybe. But overall, this looks like a cheesy, comforting watch that would appeal to anyone going through a divorce while actively harbouring a crush on their ex-spouse. A niche market perhaps, but I'm sure a few more of us will still tune in to support the cause.

Release Date: November 12.

Champagne Problems

My God, I think they made this movie for me. It's like they took the concept of Emily In Paris, removed all of Emily Cooper's most sinister personality traits, and threw in a Christmas tree. Scoring 10s across the board and I haven't even seen it yet.

Minka Kelly (of Friday Night Lights and Ransom Canyon fame) stars as Sydney Price, a determined executive who scores a chance to lead a major acquisition for Chateau Cassell, a beloved champagne house in France.

Taking one night to soak up the magic of Paris at Christmastime before her work begins, Sydney has a charming encounter with Henri Cassell (Tom Woznickza) — a handsome stranger who turns one simple evening into something special.

But it turns out Henri is the son of Chateau Cassell's founder, Hugo (Thibault de Montalemert). As she takes part in a bidding war for the family vineyard, Sydney still finds herself irresistibly drawn to Henri. How will they keep these feelings bottled up? I don't know, but it sure is fun to make champagne-related puns.

Jingle Bell Heist

Nothing says "holiday magic" like a well-executed robbery with a side of romance.

Sophia (Olivia Holt) is a sharp-witted retail worker and Nick (Connor Swindells) is a down-on-his-luck repairman. Together, they are small-time thieves with their eyes on the same Christmas Eve score: robbing London's most notorious department store.

When the duo are forced into an uneasy alliance to pull off the heist, secrets surface and Sophia and Nick's feelings for each other deepen. But how can you pull off a festive crime spree when you're too busy making googly eyes at one another? Time will tell. And I will tune in.

My Secret Santa

The most gloriously unhinged one yet.

My Secret Santa has taken the Mrs. Doubtfire route, following a vivacious single mum who, in need of a job, decides to disguise herself as a man in order to be hired as the seasonal Santa at a luxury ski resort. Been there.

Unfortunately for this gal, she also starts falling in love with the hotel manager despite the fact that this complication could ruin everything. But the heart wants what it wants, and sometimes that means you need to date the person who hired you after you lied about your identity in order to receive gainful employment. These things do happen.

Virgin River star Alexandra Breckenridge is leading the film, joined by Ryan Eggold (New Amsterdam, The Blacklist) as the hotel manager. Now that is genuinely good casting… let's see what ends up happening when the Netflix Christmas Movie editing department get their hands on the footage.

Release Date: December 3.

Man Vs. Baby

Rowan Atkinson's most iconic Christmas role is as the judgemental store clerk in Love Actually, can he capture the magic again?

In a follow-up to his Netflix comedy, Man Vs. Bee, Atkinson is reprising his role as Trevor Bingley in Man Vs. Baby. Following a disastrous experience housesitting a high-tech mansion hampered by an inconvenient insect, Trevor now finds himself looking after a luxurious London penthouse, with another unlikely companion he didn't ask for… a random baby.
