The "unforgivable" word uttered on My Kitchen Rules that has left fans furious.

It was advertised as the one “unforgivable” word that was set to change My Kitchen Rules.

But after Sunday night’s episode of the reality show aired, fans of the show were left feeling “disgusted”.

While visiting Pat and Bianca’s instant restaurant on the show, a few of the women struck up a problematic conversation about their first impressions of one of their fellow contestants, Karolina.

“I was a bit blown away, I was a bit scared,” Veronica told Karolina.

“You’re a very tall woman, you’re extraordinarily tall,” she added.

“It’s true,” Lyn chimed in.

“I thought you were trans.”

Understandably, Karolina was shocked and outraged at Lyn’s comment.

“You thought I was a transvestite?!” she responded.

“You did point out something that I’m really sensitive about. You’ve friggen’ hurt my feelings!”

Although Lyn soon apologised for her insensitive comments, fans of the show were furious that the “transphobic” and “disgraceful” comment was even aired at all.

Speaking to New Idea, fellow My Kitchen Rules contestant Lisa has claimed there’s much more to the story.

“[Lyn] said it off camera, she said it privately to Karolina. It probably didn’t need to go any further but Karolina wanted it to be brought up at the table so it was on camera,” Lisa explained.

“Karolina was happy to tackle it publicly when Lyn said it privately.”
