14 years on from My Kitchen Rules, the winners told us how their lives have changed.

After months of tense cooking, silent stares from Manu Feildel, and many, many tears, the finale of My Kitchen Rules is always a real nail-biter. There's nothing quite like watching the lives of two people who truly love cooking, completely change overnight.

As we wait to see who wins My Kitchen Rules in 2024, we’re taking a look back at each and every one of the competition-winning duos from throughout the 14 years it's been on the air, to see where they are now.

Season 1: Veronica and Shadi.

Months after taking out the top spot in the first My Kitchen Rules finale in 2010, Veronica and Shadi opened Ave' Cucina Bar & Cafe in Coorparoo, Queensland.

While locals loved the cafe, the two have since closed the business in order to spend more time with family. They now have four children, Antonia, Elena, Giselle and Julius.

"We found it hard after we had our third to balance the business and family life. Reluctantly, we decided to sell. It was a bittersweet decision," they told New Idea in 2022.

Season 2: Sammy and Bella.

Polish sisters and 2011 winners Sammy and Bella Jakubiak have also kept their culinary dreams alive in their day-to-day lives, with Bella opening a Sydney-based catering company named Bella's Feast and Sammy owning a Sydney-based sandwich store called Frank's Deli.

"Franks Deli combines a love for the quintessential New York deli experience, with a touch of European flavour (an ode to the Jakubiak Polish heritage)," their website reveals, as Sammy continues to pay homage to her Polish roots.

Season 3: Leigh and Jennifer.

One of the most controversial duos in My Kitchen Rules history waere friends Leigh Sexton and Jennifer Evans, who appeared onscreen in 2012 and were frequently presented as the "princesses" of the series.

Sadly, their friendship ended shortly after filming, with Leigh telling Woman's Day, "I'd send her 'Hello, how are you?' texts or an email and nothing would come back to me, and it’s really sad."

Now, Leigh has moved away from food and is focusing on her floral business, Lilli-Anthus Floral Design in Adelaide, while Jennifer continues to post some of the most appetising food snaps we've ever seen on her Instagram.

Season 4: Dan and Steph.

Having come into the 2013 season as the underdogs, Hervey Bay winners Dan and Steph slogged their guts out as the country looked on and eventually took home the crown.

Following their win, the couple opened their own establishment in their hometown, Eat @ Dan & Steph's, which they have since sold. The pair also welcomed their first child, Emmy, in 2015.

In 2020 they appeared on MKR: The Rivals, competing against Elle and Jake, who went on to win the entire thing. The same year, they also became brand ambassadors for Sunpork, launching their own sausage range at Coles.

Now, Steph works as a trusted real estate agent and has sold more than $25 million worth of property in their hometown of Hervey Bay. Since 2024, Dan has been working as the Food and Canteen Manager at Fraser Coast Anglican School.

Season 5: Bree and Jessica.

Adelaide mums and besties Bree and Jessica were one of those teams people loved to watch during the 2014 season of MKR. Sometimes they triumphed, sometimes their culinary endeavours ended in tears, but most of all they consistently had each other's backs.

Amid rumours that the two were no longer friends in 2014, Bree put the accusations to bed during an interview with 2Day FM Breakfast Show.

"We are very different people and we have very different personalities," she said, "But we would never have got to where we got to without one another. We are like ying and yang."

The two have both remained quite private in recent years.

Season 6: Will and Steve.

After many weeks of competitive cooking and some serious dessert fails, everyone's favourite former bankers Will and Steve won the 2015 series.

Following their win, the two boys left their jobs in banking to pursue a career in food. In particular, Will shares his delicious recipes in Northsider Magazine. Steve continues to share snaps from his life on Instagram, including his travels, his partner, Yasmin, his dogs and, of course, his food adventures.

Season 7: Tasia and Gracia.

Young Melbourne sisters Tasia and Gracia won their season of MKR after beating out married couple Carmine and Lauren. The pair are still working in the food industry, working on collaborations and private catering.

They started their own catering business and also co-own a restaurant called Makan, which is based in Melboune.

The pair told Mamamia in 2024, "We both are still in the food industry and loving it. We are running Makan restaurant in Melbourne that we opened in 2018. You can find Tasia in the kitchen and Gracia running the floor. We are also Coles Supermarket ambassadors and work with other brands creating recipes and food testing."

Season 8: Amy and Tyson.

These two siblings proved their close connection when they won MKR season 8.

Since then, Amy seems to have returned to her day job and remained private, while Tyson is now working as the Chef de Cuisine at The Bauer Kitchen. He also got married in 2022 to his now-wife, Kennie Merkley.

Season 9: Alex and Emily.

While reviews from fans were mixed for this couple, it came as no surprise that they got engaged in 2019 — only one year after winning MKR.

"Alex and I know the relationship we have, and we know how strong we are, and we know the connection we have, and we know what people are saying online is not at all what our relationship is like," Emily told Mamamia in 2018.

The two often share cute snaps together on their Instagram and enjoy cooking for their close friends and family.

Season 10: Matt and Luke.

After their MKR win, these two friends teased future projects within the food industry.

"We're currently trying to work together on a few ideas we've had. There are a few little things in the pipeline. We are keen to stick with our passions and see if we can integrate food into the things that we love to do already," Luke told New Idea in 2019.

Since then the pair have shared various culinary escapades on their Instagram, including participating in Maitland Taste in Luke's hometown and hosting the kitchen stage in 2022.

Season 11: Jake and Elle.

2020 saw a rivals season and siblings Jake and Elle find success as the final winners, beating Dan and Steph.

While this season aired during the pandemic, viewers around Australia tuned in to see the adorable dynamic between these two.

With the prize money from their MKR win, the two boosted their business during a time where the hospitality industry was struggle. However, they have since closed Jake & Elle's Kitchen.

Elle is now running an Instagram account called Bake Therapy where she shares her passion for baking, with 11k loyal Instagram followers. Jake, on the other hand, now works on Virgin Voyages and leads the Food and Beverage entertainment program.

Season 12: Janelle and Monzir.

These two lovebirds are proof that diverse cuisines are the backbone of the food industry. With Monzir coming from a Sudanese family and Janelle from a mixed Turkish and Filipino background, it comes as no surprise that these two were always trying new things in the kitchen.

Since their win in 2022, they have embarked on a joint venture, starting their own brand Monzelle's Agashe, which is a traditional Sudanese spice.

Despite a few rough patches in recent years, including Monzir's pizza oven accident in 2023 which caused him to sustain third degree burns, and Janelle being diagnosed with endometriosis and adenomysosis, the two continue to pursue their food and career goals as a team.

Now, they continue to run Monzelle together. Monzir is also working as a model while Janelle has continued her baking and cake decorating business, Sassy Sprinkles.

"We are happy to have been on the journey together and are excited for the future! To sum it up, we are still working hard towards our food and career goals, we are grateful for our time on the show, but have had to work very hard to be where we are," they told Mamamia of their many career aspirations.

Season 13: Radha and Prabha.

These two identical twins certainly made their late father proud with their MKR win. Fans all across Australia were completely enthralled by their sibling connection and their passion for traditional Indian cooking.

Since winning the show, the two are now co-owners of Twindian Flavour, where they frequently post recipes and masterclasses.

They have also written their own cookbook, 'The Twindian Cookbook', due for release soon.
