The current season of My Kitchen Rules hasn’t failed to get Australia talking — whether it be about Josh’s eyebrow-raising behaviour or the controversy of using curry paste from a jar.
However, Tuesday night’s episode effectively drew battle lines across the nation, and it’s all thanks to breakfast.
The first challenge of the quarter finals saw the remaining teams whipping up their best brekky dishes. There were eggs galore, there was salmon, and even bubble ‘n squeak made an appearance.

Evidently, what does and does not constitute breakfast food is a topic on which Aussies have VERY STRONG OPINIONS.

Some viewers were adamant that salmon is not, under any circumstances, acceptable to serve in the a.m.:

Scallops proved a confusing choice for a morning meal:

There were also plenty of cereal killers watching on (sorry, but breakfast food provides fertile ground for making puns), despairing over the lack of their favourite morning staple:
