Jess and Emma have issued a heartfelt message after last night's My Kitchen Rules drama.

New South Wales besties Sonya and Hadil were told to leave the My Kitchen Rules competition in Wednesday night’s episode after a dinner table exchange turned nasty between them and Sydney sisters Jess and Emma.

And while Sonya and Hadil have so far chosen only to blame the editing of the show, Jess and Emma have shared an apology to fans for their “part in the drama” through their Instagram account after the episode.

“Congratulations to Kim & Soung on their amazing score tonight, both safe teams absolutely deserve their spot in the finals,” the pair wrote next to an image with the word “sorry”.

“We want to apologise for our part in the drama that unfolded. We should not have engaged with any of the comments towards us,” they wrote.

“There is no excuse even if we were defending ourselves to act this way in another’s home.”

The pair said they would not be playing the “victim card” and didn’t want the feud to continue now that it’s finished on screen.

“The only people to feel sorry for are the other contestants who felt uncomfortable and the hosts who were disrespected.”

They also shared an important message to their fans who may be writing cruel or angry messages on Sonya and Hadil’s social media accounts.

“To our young followers this is not acceptable behaviour and there a better ways to resolve issues,” Jess and Emma wrote.

“Be kind and stop the hate, the horrible nasty comments towards the girls it’s not needed.”

Meanwhile, Sonya and Hadil were quiet on their social media accounts on Wednesday night, but had earlier responded to fans on Instagram with lengthy replies blaming the editing of the show and claiming they’d been bullied.

“[We are] not in control of how we are portrayed but we lived it and can sleep well knowing the truth,” the pair wrote.

“Australia doesn’t know the truth and if they did they would feel ashamed that they are attacking two women who are the victims.

“Imagine how we feel watching the episodes back when the episodes have been extremely tampered with (the amount of editing is insane).”

However, some fans failed to see how the show’s producers could have edited the episode to make Sonya and Hadil say words they didn’t actually say.

Many had a problem with the insults flung at their rivals – such as calling them “blowfish”, “disgusting clowns”, offering up a “really good doctor to go to fix your ugly face”, and threatening “I’ll come for you and I’ll come for you and I’ll come for you” – including Manu Feildel, who asked the cooking couple to leave.
